RAYMOND LYNCH
Name: Ray
Age: 47
Activity: Fairly active, commentating and moderating to provide answers to passive users. Responds to questions and authors for resourceful uses. Checks site often and helps users to drive in more traffic and bring attention to speakeasies to drive alcohol distribution business.
Objects: Adds content to attract passive users to speakeasies in order to propel distribution of moonshine. Also checks site to see competition and figure out how to conduct business in today's underground market.
Background: Formerly a barkeep that was shut down by the enforcement of the eighteenth amendment. Frustrated by his recent lack of income being that his business was all he had, Ray has turned to pushing his distribution to speakeasies to put the break back on the table.
MARLENE SKIVER
Age: 25
Usage: mostly passive; looks for the right location to visit for the night, quick site visits and light contributions; Accessed from mobile for convenience purposes as well as subtle purposes.
Marlene lives in a single household and works during the day with a theater troupe in town. She is still considerably young and therefore a spontaneous individual. Bored by her dull day-by-day job with the troupe, Marlene found excitement in the bustling underground happenings of the speakeasies. While her friends introduced her to the speakeasies for the availability of alcohol,Marlene was more drawn towards the energy given off by the jazz music being played.
ROBERT BURNS
Age: 36
Site usage: Predominantly passive, occasionally active; Comments every now and then.
Light site usage and is accessed mostly on weekends from private computers.
Looks for local speakeasies, events @ speakeasies and D.I.Y moonshine.
Robert lives in a tight city apartment and works at the shipyard until late at night and comes home to his wife and two young kids. He's a dedicated worker being that he strives to provide for his family living as lower-middle class resident. And while family does come first, Robert does like to unwind with his friends from the shipyard over a glass of gin or some scotch from time to time and looking for the easiest and (most subtle) way to have a drink,

DAVID DeSANDRO
From a first look, David DeSandro’s portfolio page takes on a simple structure with a single column and Futura set type down the site. DeSandro establishes a theme of simplicity behind his work through the site structure and his one lined manifesto of “Being creative and making things make me happy.” The orange background color with white body and red headlines also reinforces the simple aspect behind the page. However the role of the user proves to be significant as soon as the site is interacted with. Hovering over the links introduces a rainbow animation within the text and clicking anywhere outside of the body disassembles the type. These animations bring about an unexpected element of playfulness to the seemingly straightforward and simple site. This creates an important role for the user in that they must interact with the site in order to experience it in full. That being said, the rest of the functionality is straightforward, with the content in list form and going down the page in one column.
DILLER SCOFIDIO + RENFRO
The DSR website is a company website that exhibits the past work and background regarding the firm. DSRNY specializes in a variety of visual media, particularly architecture and visual and performing arts. This is translated through the presentation of their navigation as it resembles a structure similar to a building and allows the user to navigate it as if it were in perspective. The portfolio element of the website is the main focal point and is purely visual, allowing for the user to seamlessly navigate through the past works. There is also a default navigation bar at the top of the page to complement the main central navigation. Aside from these two main structures, the website is fairly simple and is based purely on the navigation. The thin lines of the top navigation bar and gray color scheme don’t detract from the main features of the page, providing a decent balance.

Hierarchy Analysis
JASON SANTA MARIA
The dominant element of Santa Maria's page is the red banner "I WROTE A BOOK", an accomplishment the designer wants to emphasize and communicate the most to his visitors through scale and color included in the body content. Aside from the book banner, the rest of the content demands attention with its large headlines and centered placement. The navigation list at the top is the final detail to direct any additional information to the user and is significantly smaller than the rest of the main content.
AMAZON.COM
The structure of Amazon takes on a busier layout with product listings as the main, side and bottom elements. The largest and centered element depicts the site's special offers and deals while the secondary section below highlights previous purchases and items the user has made. To the right is a melange of additional deals and offers that serve as a supplement to the site's main header image.
