in relation to the comment of AJ being 'most underappreciated', I'd like to point out that that's in the fandom - not the industry

it's AJ who's most frequently invited on to guest on Paul Merton's show, on the Comedy Store Players, etc

it's AJ who's arguably most natural with other improvisers, being skilled in adapting his style and how he interacts

having seen him a couple times on Paul and Suki's show, it's so obvious that they truly enjoy doing improv with him.

AJ's routinely excellent at playing along with them and drawing laughter from an audience with a notably different demographic to SFTH's

maybe he's least appreciated in the fandom, but certainly not amongst other comedians

(interestingly, most people I've introduced SFTH to have actually said he's their favourite. and these friends aren't really in the fandom, so it seems he's under-loved by the fandom, but loved by the casual viewer and the actual professionals...)

This is just a response to the post about AJ’s confusion but at the workshop he did in Vienna he actually said that confusion is his go to coping response when he feels scared. Like basically he was talking about how vulnerable of a position doing improv is and that we all end up having little repetitive safety quirks we develop that we resort to when we start to feel nervous and unsure (bc hesitation can’t be shown). He explained that his “oh fuck idk what now” is to just start going ❓🤔❔🧐🤨

I think like a good quarter of the time when AJ says something 'stupid' that becomes a running bit for the rest of the game/show he's actually making a valid point and just not articulating it in a way that makes sense to the others. Like that one bit in the lighthouse in which I'm fairly certain he intended to be living in a different house next to the lighthouse
