Why is everyone on tumblr so sad?
The Story Behind "Philophilia"
We all deserve to be loved. But some of us want love so much that we slowly lose sanity and will continue to push for it.
“Philophilia” is a latin word meaning “a love of love”. So many people have fallen in love in life or have become attached romantically. We will do anything for the significant other - call once a day, arrange to see each other, send pictures, text all day, spend as much time as possible if not every day, message our lover and change our romantic status on our social networking sites, etc. Wrapping ourselves up in the idea of love, we have to remember to stop and ask one simple question: Do I love him/her? Or do I love the idea of him/her?
“Philophilia” is a story of a boy (or girl) who bites the poison apple of breaking-up over and over again. And after each break-up, he (or she) jumps right back up and gets back in the love game in efforts to find true love and a companion, a lover, a significant other. But the “victim” realizes after all these emotional murders that the base of the issues in love come from a simple problem of not keeping control of his (or her) heart.
Just a little attention, and I get lost
Just a little affection, and I get caughtCan’t believe I put myself in this mess
I jump right back up, but the battery’s dead
This is not a matter of playing the victim. The truth is that the fault does not lie in those who hurt the man’s (or woman’s) heart. Sure, in all relationships, some issues come from both sides of the table, but the majority of the issues in this character’s love life simply come from the over-sensitivity and coveting lust over having someone. But even though our boy (or girl) takes time for insight, he (or she) remains static. The potential of a love in the future keeps this heart pumping.
So how much of our relationships were based on loving the person and appreciating every action that her or she executes? And how much of our relationships were just a matter of us staying in it for the sex, the affection, or the simple fact of not being alone at night in our beds?
They say love is complicated, they say the dark is scary, they say heights hurt people. It’s not love that’s complicated it’s people, it’s not the dark that’s scary it’s what might be in it, and it’s not the heights that hurt it’s what happens when we hit the ground.
why do we have to make everything so hard (via @anotordinaryteen)
