I truly love Pink House, but I honestly don’t understand who they had in mind when they decided to make a cross between Timberlands and Converse with some spare frills slapped on.
part two of my styling post!
here are some snaps of recent in-store events, where the hairstyles are a lot more do-able for those folks with naturally straight hair. as you can see, pretty much any length- from short, to medium, to long- is easily workable. the focus is on natural colors and simple styling, and light makeup in pale colors (as before).
i think both kinds of styling are equally valid! the overall goal of the styling is, like the clothes, to give off a super relaxed and natural vibe- even if you spent a ton of time or money to get the look.
so if you’re worried about doing hair or makeup for your natural-kei looks, don’t sweat it too much. you can do an elaborate curled look, but you’ll also be just fine with simple hair, too.
someone sent me an ask about this a couple of weeks ago to ask for advice on Pink House hair and makeup styling, so I wanted to do a little post about it.
here’s part one with some examples of catalog styling. the top photos are from old catalogs, and the last three photos are from a recent collaboration with idol group Momoiro Clover Z. the focus in these shots is on long, curled hair with lots of volume. for makeup, the focus is on a very “natural” look, with relatively light makeup in natural shades.
these styles are awesome for those of us who have curly or natural hair- they take hardly any work! but they would be a huge pain for anyone with straight hair to recreate. next up, i’ll share some photos of shopstaff with more toned-down styles for folks with naturally straight or short hair.
well ok i guess i won’t get my hopes up for christmas this year
