don’t mind my yapping just a thought… kip’s case is genuinely one that makes me tear up each time i think about it. i recently rewatched a bunch of documentaries on him and his childhood and how much he felt he was alone and isolated… i think the fact that his parents usually responded to his “issues” or trouble learning with disappointment and a certain sadness in what he’s “becoming” had a huge impact on his view of himself. i don’t want to judge parents ways of brining up their child, i am not and never at liberty to do so, but i do however wish they might have seen or at all taken into account the importance their words had on him, especially at such a young and vulnerable age. he was an extremely smart and intelligent kid, i would even go so far as to say more than most others, yet his constant reminder of how he “disappointed” his parents probably made a big impairment on how he saw himself and thus contributing greatly to his conclusion being that he killed his parents and wanted to end himself too. hearing his sobs in the video interrogation with the police makes my heart ache. to think that such a young child believed he would rather his parents die than to basically have him for a child is one of the most saddening and deeply disturbing things i’ve ever heard. i know this information may vary given which documentaries yall watch and what info you take in, and possibly i have it wrong… but it’s just so interesting and simultaneously sad to see such a bright future impaired by negative words and subsequent traumatic thoughts about yourself. im glad he’s doing better.
