Wow! I can’t believe that it’s already day 9 of our 12 Days of Outdoor Christmas series. Time is flying and the clock is now ticking too quickly towards Christmas (just ask our advent calendars). Today, we’re featuring some products that are often overlooked, but incredibly important. Sunscreen and bug spray. Honestly, a good sunscreen and bug spray can make or break a trip (okay, usually you just notice the bad ones that ruin your trip). Remember when we took the kids backpacking this summer? Oh yes, the “family friendly” bug spray that we used did essentially nothing against the massive swarms of bugs that wanted nothing more than our precious blood. Weekly Challenges Provide Simple Steps to Animate Daily Routines with the Help of Disney-Branded Products

All Terrain is proud of its relationship with Disney. The company recently launched its Phineas and Ferb collection of kids skin care products and was recently featured as one of the products that Disney highlighted in its D-Lightful Living Program.

Through a series of weekly challenges over the course of 12 weeks, D-Lightful Living: Animate Your Daily Routine will give parents tips inspired by fun Disney-branded products on how to help motivate their families to make simple and easy changes like eating more fruits and vegetables, improving oral care habits and preparing for cold and flu season. Hosted on DCP's official Facebook page known as Disney Living, each week DCP will feature a video challenge from the "Go-To Mom," Kimberley Clayton Blaine — a mom blogger, child development expert and licensed child therapist. She will showcase simple tips and product suggestions to help other parents guide their kids toward a healthier lifestyle using products that feature their favorite Disney characters. The program will run weekly through the end of November.

"Encouraging children to incorporate health-minded changes, even small ones, into their daily routines is often frustrating for parents," said Blaine, a mom of two boys. "With help and inspiration from Disney-branded products that feature some of kids' favorite characters, moms and dads can inspire healthier habits that feel like fun and not a task.

Beginning today, families can visit the D-Lightful Living page on Disney Living Facebook to find out information on each weekly challenge including tips from Blaine and information about relevant Disney-branded products to help succeed with each challenge. Parents can also download a checklist outlining all 12 weekly challenges and tack this up around the house to help track the family's progress. They can also join in the online forum to share their own tips toward healthier habits and enter to win a weekly Disney-branded product prize package.Through a sharing function, program participants are encouraged to let their Facebook friends in on all the action by inviting them to participate or working together to help each other meet their family's goals.

"From our nutritional guidelines to the 'Magic of Healthy Living' PSAs and programming, Disney has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to encouraging families to make better choices concerning their health and nutrition," said Embola Ndi, vice president of Food Health & Beauty, DCP. "The D-Lightful Living campaign gives moms meaningful ideas and product solutions to help her family make these better choices while also showing kids that Disney makes healthy living fun."

In 2006, Disney announced new food guidelines aimed at giving parents and children healthier eating options. Under these guidelines, Disney committed to using its name and characters on kid-focused food products that meet specific criteria, including limits on calories, fat, saturated fat and sugar. The guidelines also included a long-term target for balancing the licensed food portfolio such that 85% will be everyday foods with the smaller 15% comprised of special-occasion treats. DCP has achieved this goal in North America. .

REVIEW OF ALL TERRAIN NATURAL HERBAL ARMOR INSECT REPELLENT

The summers in Florida are well known for being hot, humid and BUGGY!! It’s difficult to be outside in the morning or evening for more than a few minutes without getting eaten alive. As a mom of two small children, I have always been reluctant to use insect repellent with DEET in it. And most DEET-free products that I have used in the past do not work very well. When I received All Terrain’s Natural Herbal Armor Insect Repellent in the mail, I have to say that I was a bit skeptical. Luckily, I was proven wrong. The product was delivered just in time for our night family walk, that has recently been cut short because of the ridiculous amount of bug bites my kids were getting. We were pleasantly surprised that we arrived home without the usual harassment from the bugs and none of us had any bug bites!

The product comes in a convenient 4oz plastic pump spray bottle so it is easy to just carry in my pocket or easily store in my diaper bag or purse. The insect repellent is made with all natural ingredients and is DEET-free so you can be worry-free using it on your family and around small children and pets. The active ingredients include many different oils, such as soybean, citronella, peppermint, cedar, lemongrass and geranium. It is a white liquid that is colorless once sprayed and rubbed into the skin. It has a pleasant smell to it and reminds me a citronella candle. The product only needs to be reapplied every 2 to 3 hours and is water and sweat resistant.

One of the best things about summer is sitting outside and enjoying the weather. What can completely ruin that is getting eaten alive by pesky insects. We have the perfect backyard for hanging out. Unfortunately, the bugs feel the same way. We have tried a variety of candles and yard sprays, but it seems like the only answer is to directly spray something on our bodies. Some sprays contain chemicals that concern me, though. Honestly, I am not even sure what DEET is – I just know it's bad. So, I would like to keep it away from myself and my loved ones.

All Terrain is completely DEET-free and consists of natural, herbal ingredients. It's safe for sensitive skin and is not tested on animals. It is also time-released so it last for up to 2-3 hours and is sweat and water-resistant. Perfect for outdoor activities!

Being pregnant, I cannot use your typical, everyday bug spray. Living in Wisconsin, this poses a problem….seriously, it’s like bug central around here! Giant mosquitoes are constantly on the hunt and personally, I am not a fan of itchy, giant, red bug bites.

So, when I stumbled upon the opportunity to review the All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent that is completely cruelty and DEET free, I jumped on it!

I have been using Skin So Soft oil to combat the bugs prior to using the All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent, which I don’t mind and love the smell of but it seemed to stop working after about an hour.

The All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent on the other hand worked like a charm and is 100% effective for two hours and 95.8% for three hours! It uses six natural-repelling oils at 25% the concentration.

And as an added bonus, you smell like a citronella candle when you use it!!

This bug spray is very effective product. My husband took it, since he is extremely allergic to bug bites especially mosquito’s. We used this once during the day and once at night. It was very more effective at night for sure. Lasted for a good 5 hours on him. Plus the smells wasn’t that strong and the spray, sprayed into the skin quickly leaving you not so greasy. This is deff one of the best products we have tried out of the all. Works just as good as those candles. Least this way you don’t have to walk around with the candle. Since we live in a very rainy moldy state. This repellent works on demand and keeps your bump free! The best part its all natural, now we all know not all “natural” stuff work since its like not as effective or for long time. This product on the other hand works great. They ship very fast too!

I love summer but I hate the bugs!!! And a lot of bug sprays are so bad for you but you can't help but use them anyways. Well, All Terrain has come up with an awesome DEET Free Pump Spray bottle of Insect Repellant. It works great. It didn't irritate my skin or make it red. It costs only $8.49! It worked just as it was supposed to. I was able to enjoy several bug free nights. It's a relief because I can't stand having to swat bugs away and I really can't stand when they try to fly in my face! I really love the fact that comes in an easy to use, mess free bottle!!

The one thing I dislike the most about the summer around here in New Orleans is the horrible mosquitoes! Those things will eat you alive like there is no tomorrow. Lucky for me All Terrain was nice enough to send me some of their Natural Herbal Armor Insect Repellent to try as well as offer a bottle up for one of my awesome readers! You may remember I did a preview review on All Terrain back in March 2011, so I am quite fond of their products. This time, I was sent a 4oz bottle of their insect repellent as I have already stated to try out. This had come at a perfect time since I've been bringing Sophia to the park a lot in the evenings to play around. Unfortunately, it seems like the mosquitoes enjoy the way I taste more than I care for and I hate having to spray myself down with repellent because then I feel gross and sticky. I know you all know that feeling and what I'm talking about. Won't damage clothing or equipment. So what was my experience? Unlike the spray sort of repellent, this sort of squirts out in more like a lotion type of substance. It applies to the skin smoothly and easily. I do like that it is a natural product and safe for not only my skin, but Sophia's as well. It does have a small odor to it, like any typical insect repellent. I'm not too fond of that, but on the plus side it goes away after a few minutes of application. Also, on another plus, it appears that this helped reduce me being bitten by those pesky mosquitoes! I swear, sometimes I think there's no getting around those things, but apparently I found a great product that seems to help! This stuff is said to keep the bugs away for 2-3 hours, we're only usually out for about an hour or two at a time, which it did do during that period. So overall, this was a great experience with All Terrain and their product and I would definitely recommend giving their products a try!

All Terrain Herbal Armour DEET-Free Insect Repellent-Review

When we went on our camping trip in early August, the one thing that I didn’t enjoy about the vacation was the mosquitoes. The area had suffered some flooding that spring and summer and as a result, the bugs were absolutely terrible. I try to use all-natural, DEET-free bug spray whenever possible but on that trip, all-natural just wasn’t an option. It really didn’t have the effectiveness and the lasting power that we needed.

Shortly after we returned from our trip, I received a bottle of All Terrain Herbal Armour insect repellent. This unique spray is touted as one of the most effective DEET-free repellents on the market and I couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to the claims.

The mosquitoes back in our hometown were nowhere near as bad as they had been at the campsite, but we did still see quite a few of them at dawn and dusk. The next time we headed out for an evening fire in the backyard, I made sure to bring the handy white bottle along.

I sprayed the kids liberally with the Herbal Armour spray and I noticed immediately that the smell was much stronger than previous all-natural bug repellents I had used. And that stronger scent meant that the spray’s effectiveness far outlasted any other natural spray I have ever used.

There are other eco-friendly insect repellentsavailable and most of them work very well, but I do find that they tend to wear off within an hour or two. The All Terrain Herbal Armour was still effective after almost four hours outside and it was so nice to have a natural spray that I could use on my children without having to worry about reapplying it again and again.

While I wouldn’t necessarily say that the spray was more effective than other sprays it was certainly as effective and definitely longer lasting, which can be just as important when you want to have fun outdoors. I was also impressed with how well the spray worked to keep away the small, irritating blackflies that plague our yard. If you want a powerful and long lasting insect repellent that is still gentle enough for a child and free of harsh chemicals, All Terrain Herbal Armour is a great choice. ALL TERRAIN Herbal Armor Insect Repellent Review I am a bug magnet! If there is a mosquito anywhere near where we are they are coming for me. When we go camping I end up covered head to toe in bites and John has maybe 1. For some reason they love my feet and ankles. We love to sit outside enjoying dinner on the patio but unfortunately end up coming inside early because I am getting eaten alive. I was really excited for the opportunity to test out Herbal Armor Insect Repellent. I love that the product is cruelty free and natural. I was really impressed with the scent. A lot of times you put bug spray on and it smells horrible. Herbal Armor has a nice almost lemony scent. The spray came out evenly out of the bottle and coated a large section of skin. I have been using it nightly since it came in and have to say I am loving having dinner outside without coming in covered in bug bites.

I have worked with All Terrain products many times now and have really enjoyed their products and this time would be no exception. This year has been horrible for mosquito's around my area we are actually in a West Nile Alert so I always try to spray the kids down no matter what time of day or night. I even spray them down before they get on the bus for school in the morning. The All Terrain Natural Herbal Armor Insect Repellent has is a DEET-FREE Pump Spray. Cruelty Free. I can honestly say that it WORKS! Not a mosquito one lands on the kids now, and I don't even have to use a large amount a couple spritz goes along way.
