“You know that I love you, right?” Was the question that was asked and before the statement could go any further, I wondered; “Do you love me or do you love not sleeping alone? The idea of always having someone readily available to you especially in your time of need? Do you love me or do you love the fact that you have consistent company? Is it the love of having a meal prepared for you day in and day out? Is it that after a long day, your very own personal massage therapist tends to the stresses placed upon you? What is it about those things that make you love me in particular? Was I the lonely willing participant? I know the same question is going to be asked of me and I’ll answer by saying- “If it weren’t for you simply telling me, I would have never known.” My counter question would be, “How do you enjoy being loved even though you don’t know how to?
