nothing, there was black and nothingness. then the next thing she knew she felt the cold pricks of the freezing river. she gaped for air as it filled her lungs, shooting up she spat water out of her lungs and felt the night chill settle in as the coldness sent an ache through her bones. the brunette used a tree branch to help pull herself up, her mind was blank and she had no clue what was going on. she tried to yell for help but her voice just wasn’t loud enough, so she walked it. drenched in water still, hair stuck to her face and neck as the same pair of jeans and sweater and converse she had been wearing the night she unkowingly died were still on as she walked down the road trying to get to anywhere, anyone familiar but her eye sight was a little blurry as she was still adjusting to her surroundings. finally about half way into the town she saw an outline of a body on the sidewalk, she couldn’t quite make out who it was but she was so cold her teeth were chattering and her lips were practically blue. “excuse me.” she called out, elena knew she needed help.
Matt was walking the streets of Mystic Falls as he was following up on reports of suspicious behavior happening in the night. Knowing his hometown a little too well, the presence could be of any nature. Leaving his patrol car behind, Matt thought it best to walk as he might have a better chance of actually seeing whatever or whoever was occupying the eerie, cold night. Then he heard a familiar voice behind him. Startled, he immediately turned around to face exactly who he thought he heard. "Elena?" Matt knew better to assume that the girl in front of him was Elena Gilbert. Same face but could have a different name with how many dopplegangers have been known to take space Mystic Falls. But what really lured him to speak her name was the politness in her tone as she beckoned for his attention. "What the hell happened?" He immdiately asked as he took off his deputy coat to wrap around her.
