Deleted a post and rethought because I just went down a rabbit hole about '80s television and, of all things, slime. I doublechecked and Nickelodeon does in fact have that trademarked. So maybe that's why Rivals was calling it gunge.

Seriously, though, if y'all over there in the UK are really just calling slime gunge, we need to have a talk.

We use both terms but I'd say in general, if it goes on you, it's slime. If you go in it, it's gunge.

And gungeing people (yes, it's a verb too) has a long TV history here.
