I think its a pretty weird thing how men of any minority group has the instinct to completely fuck over the women of the same minority group any chance they get. That happens with black women, trans women, lesbians. They never want to give up the patriarchal power they have on society, they want that power. And they can't be solidary towards the women, they always find ways to undermine us as people.

Btw i made this post because i was pissed because of an event that a PHD trans man say that "trans women go into the closet during college and so are more socially mobile" while calling us transsexuals and crossies, while also in the same lecture saying that trans lesbianism hasn't existed before the 1980's, claiming also that to be a woman you also need to be attracted to men, that lesbian teans women aren't actually opressed, all said in a panel that had zero trans women.

Trans men are seen as more of an authority of what trans women experiences than trans women themselves.

Men of any minority group hold more societal power than the women of that same minority group. This is basic intersectionality.

yeah i saw that panel when it first came out, unsettling stuff especially given how much easier academia is for tboys (gendered housing places them with women, for one)

i think in a really simple sense its about rape. like i wish it wasnt so brutally simple but its about rape, tboys want to maintain their defacto control over our bodies. and they DO rape us, trans men, they are creepy & leering & condescending. at once too friendly and too quick to anger.

when a transmasc gets up on stage and denies basic reality, he can only have ONE goal: immunity to consequences. he wants the ongoing sexual violence against transfems to remain in perpetuity, he sees that the world keeps us weak and calls it a feast.

it's the same for any other group of men. the only solution to their gendered insecurities is a partner who cannot resist, cannot respond with violence in kind, and ideally wouldnt even know how if she wanted to! just more rape. might be as light as harassment or a little groping but it is really, truly, just about getting to rape us as little or as much as they want whenever they feel a single negative emotion

The thing that gets me the most about the whole "transmascs are invisible and this erasure is as bad as what transfems deal with" is that transfem experiences are erased too. I see posts just about every other week about how studies into the trans people fail to include a transfem sample because they couldn't find one, or a report showing that more transmascs hold prominent positions in queer organisations than transfems. I see more feminist posts that actively include transmascs than ones that actively include trans women. I see posts from transmascs about how historians see people who almost definitely were transmasc as women, as if this hasn't happened to trans women the world over, who were branded cross dressing homosexuals and castigated, humiliated or executed.

I see this take everywhere. It's inescapable. But I just think it's completely wrong and in itself, erases transfem experiences.

There is no actual, tangible reason why we allow people to starve, to be homeless, to suffer and die needlessly. Food is plentiful. Empty homes are plentiful. Medicine is plentiful. It’s hidden away behind constructs and we pretend those constructs mean something. There is an empty home and a homeless family, give them it. There is a sick child and common medicine to treat it, give it to them. There is a starving person and so much food wasted by corporations or hidden behind a dollar sign, feed them.
