It’s ya girl, soundin’ off. Ya girl ended up with pretty mild injuries in comparison to some other peeps. There are Some Ragrets with how i went about some of the riot stuff, especially since I ended up getting yeeted by a water cannon. Y’all, I was taken the fuck out, big time. 

Anyways, now that I’m done answerin’ the question I know most of y’all were gonna ask, we’re gonna move on to what I actually wanted to talk ‘bout– Did anyone else check out the president’s state of the whatever address? We um– we kinda won, y’all. Covington is outie 5000! Homeboy Markham came through with it!  The laws n’ stuff are still out there but like, this is a step forward, right? I gotta say, it feels kinda good to have contributed to somethin’ like this. I’ve never cared about this kinda stuff before and it just– I just wanna reiterate that it’s never too late to care and to do something. That bein’ said, if anybody needs anything while we continue to fight the good fight– a well-placed meme, am embarrassing story to make your ribs hurt, I gotchu. It’s not like I can do anything else like this.

Oof, gettin’ smacked with a water hammer sounds like a bad fuckin’ day.  You doin’ okay other than bein’ sore?  Things may be lookin’ up or at least returnin to some sense of...normal.  That would be nice and I ain’t even had it real bad given bein a domme and havin some money.

Due to recent events, I’d like to take this chance to reach out and offer at least a little bit of help in truly trying times, to say the least. I’m going to spend the day cooking with what I have and can get. Anyone lacking in food is more than welcome to let me know and I’ll do what I can to change that. We live in a very well off country. Nobody needs to go hungry here. Since I have a lot of available time on my hands now, I’m happy to bring food to those unable to leave their homes due to yesterday’s legal changes.

“Oh, good. Maybe I can help? I’m…” She frowned, shrugged her shoulders. “Not too bad at cooking. I’ve done it a lot.”

‘Yeah, I think my brother and I… we don’t have a lot in common yet, except a shared set of traumatizing parents, and I really like his girlfriend. That sounds really stupid when I say it out loud. But we’re working on it.”

Emmy followed just a few steps behind, then paused. “Maybe… Maybe I could make your coffee in the morning? And bring it to you?”

“Sure, we can cook together,” Nava said agreeably.  “The recipes are pretty easy to follow, which I really appreciate.”

“It’s good you guys are reconnectin’, especially with all the craziness that’s happenin.”

Nava led her up to the third floor and showed her to the bedroom.  Big windows looke out onto the terrace and gave a nice view of the other surrounding buildings.  “My room’s on the other side of the staircase.  You should bring us both coffee and sit with me on the terrace.”

“Oh, I remember. You were learning how to cook with recipes from Trader Joe’s, right?” She grinned, remembering. That had been entertaining. “I’m a lot younger than my brother too, actually. I’m sure it must have been weird for him growing up, to have me be so little. We definitely both had to have some time apart to be able to reconnect. But I’m happy he’s back in my life.”

Emmy immediately followed a few steps behind Nava. “A terrace? That’s amazing…. Yes. Yes, I absolutely want a terrace.”  

“Yup, I still got a freezer full of things I wanna try makin,” Nava replied with a grin.  “Kinda makes sense.  They’re still kids to me.  Great but...not much in common yet.  I’m glad you’ve got your brother.”

She nodded happily.  “Yeah, I got one off my room too.  It’s awesome.  I like to take my coffee out there in the mornin.  It’s cold as hell now, so it really wakes me up.”

“The kitchen? Do you like to cook?” She fidgeted with the strap of her bag, still getting a feel of the lay out of the building. It was so much bigger than she expected. “Three? That’s a lot. Are you close with any of them? I only have one sibling. He’s older, and we went through some weird stuff, but we’re starting to be close now, I think. Do you miss Las Vegas?”

Emmy flushed and looked at the floor. She’d never met a Dominant who was quite as straight-forward as Nava. “Oh. Okay. I think I would like to have my own room, if you’re sure you have the space.”

“I like to try to cook.  It’s kinda fun,” she hummed, then nodded.  “Ma had me real young and then...well, some accidents later so...the kiddos.  I love ‘em, but they’re a good bit younger.  Always seemed like they were my kids half the time.  Maybe when they get older we’ll get closer.” “Let’s go find you a room then,” she said, waving for Emmy to follow her.  “You want one with a little terrace?”

Emmy smiled at Nava’s description. It was as candid and unexpected as the young woman usually was. That seemed like something Nava would do. “Do you still have a lot of spare room? I could try to help, if you’d like. How many siblings do you have?”

She looked around again, then looked back to Nava. She hesitated, not knowing what the best answer was. “I… I would be happy to do whatever you’d like.”

“Yup, lots of spare rooms.  I basically use my bedroom, the office and the kitchen,” she admitted, then grinned.  “Thanks...I got 3.  All of them a good bit younger, still in high school.   2 girls and a boy.  I got Ma and them a little house outside Vegas, so they don’t gotta be on top of each other.”

Chuckling, she wiggled a finger.  “Nah, none of that.  This ain’t the way I wanna do things.  I mean, you’re hot, I’m hot, the sex would be great, but these rules are kinda forcin things to move faster than they normally would have.  I’m cool if you want your own room.  Or if you wanna share and fool around but not have sex.  We can do whatever.”

I didn’t think anything could taste worse than MRE’s, but I am absolutely certain that would. Have you actually drank that before?

I have.  You try not to taste it, just gulp it down for the caffeine jolt.

“Oh, right. I didn’t realize she used to be your roommate.” Emmy looked around, appreciating how well Anna had decorated. “It’s very nice. I hope she doesn’t feel like I’m intruding or something….”

She took a few hesitant steps forward, then a few more. Then her mouth dropped open in surprise. “You have a pool?! Like, a whole pool?” She was shocked at how elaborate and expansive the building was. She wasn’t likely to feel completely at home anytime soon that she could imagine. She hadn’t experienced that kind of luxury for a long while. “Is there somewhere I can put my stuff? I promise I won’t take up much space.”

“She needed a place an I got a lotta space.  When I moved to the city I thought, I got money, Imma be a fancy bitch and get myself a nice place and now I realize I ain’t got any clue what to do with it,” Nava chuckled.  “Me, Ma and my little siblings lived in a studio and then I rented rooms.”

Nava raised a brow at Emmy.  “Take up all the space ya want.  You can have a guest room or crash with me, whatever ya like.”

God, it keeps getting worse… I try not to day drink. My job wouldn’t approve.

Well, I guess you could dump RedBull ore Dew in it instead.  Probably taste like runoff from a festival porta potty though.

Nava’s apartment was homier than Emmy had expected. She hadn’t really known what to expect. Everything was changing so quickly, it made her head spin. She had been concentrating on just getting through things safely, keeping her head down, and staying as far away from Bayview as possible, when she’d suddenly been assigned a Dominant. She supposed it was lucky that she at least knew Nava, and liked her, but she could hardly help being unsettled by the whole thing. 

Still holding tight to her overnight bag, Emmy hovered around the front door of Nava’s building. She bit her lip, taking everything in. “You have a lovely home. Thank you for… uh, thank you for putting me up for a few days. Even if it wasn’t exactly planned.”

“It’s no trouble,” Nava said, then frowned.  “My roommate did most of the decorating.  It was pretty much empty before Anna moved in, but then all this stuff happened and she’s a sub, so she went to stay with someone she was sorta seein I guess....”

She motioned to the place.  “Feel free to look around.  There’s a pool in the basement if ya like swimmin.”
