The power flickered off in my area of the city for about three hours this afternoon, before the snow started– Now, I know I’m lucky in that I have heat available, but I’ve been made aware that those who don’t may be in need of firewood or other things to keep the heat in. Have people been just staying in their apartments or is there a conglomeration of people elsewhere? I know the hospital is a popular place, but that can’t be the only shelter. I’d like to make some of my resources available. 

And also– well. I’d like updates on individuals. 

Welcome back, sir. My apartment still has power, as of right now. I don’t know how much longer that will last. But I have a lot of blankets. I know some people are going to the hospital, but I’m not sure where else everyone has been going. I’ve started to pack things up, but I’m not sure where to go.

So here’s the situation. Ya girl hasn’t been to a party in fuckin’ aaaaages and there’s nothin’ like a good party to pull a civilization together and lift spirits while we’re tryin’ to live the best way we can. So I say we organize a little somethin’ somethin’ in Manor Park, sometime ‘round say…Christmas? A little bit before? Or..even for New Years? We can get like…I dunno, tents and a DJ and fuckin’ rave lights. Throw in some innovative coal powered stuff and a couple of bonfires scattered around and we’ve got warmth too. Everybody kinda brings whatever they’ve got to spare– food, liquor, anything that would lend to a dope as fuck get together– politics and all the stuffy shit pushed aside. Who’d be down?

A party sounds really nice. Too nice, maybe. Do you think it can be pulled off?

The kids I was visiting at the hospital. They had quite a bit of fun this evening. And it was cool to see, even if it was at my expense.

Due to recent events, I’d like to take this chance to reach out and offer at least a little bit of help in truly trying times, to say the least. I’m going to spend the day cooking with what I have and can get. Anyone lacking in food is more than welcome to let me know and I’ll do what I can to change that. We live in a very well off country. Nobody needs to go hungry here. Since I have a lot of available time on my hands now, I’m happy to bring food to those unable to leave their homes due to yesterday’s legal changes. 

Maybe I can help? If you can pick me up. I can cook?

EMMY: i just wish it didn't feel so complicated. everything used to be simple. no one questioned everything. now we have to question everything we're told, by everyone.

EMMY: um, i don't think so. it just feels strange, sometimes. all the things i grew up with hearing all the time, seeing people just totally reject that entire way of living.

EMMY: i start to think i'm becoming more liberal, but then i still want all the same things.

EMMY: it just makes me question things a lot.

JACK: is coffee cake any good? i have way too many coffee rations stored up. but i'm sure we can find a recipe that works with what we've got.

EMMY: that sounds good! we can get creative and see what we can come up with.

EMMY: they probably did. i have no idea how they would've done otherwise, anyways. it's not as if they have time to personally match everyone.

EMMY: i'm not going.

EMMY: i mean, everyone else is going.

EMMY: of course. and if we put our rations together, we can probably bake something nice.
