Collecting Crystals
Wooyoung x Fem Reader
masterlist
The moment he left his bedroom, the doorbell rang. He furrowed his brows and padded to the front door and opened it to see you standing there soaked from head to toe. You looked up at him once and kept your head low after.
He always started off conversations with a snarky remark but not today. Wooyoung just stared at you, unsure of what to do. The silence was too long for his liking so he held your hand and quietly pulled you inside his house.
You followed him, not caring where he was bringing you. Your eyes were starting to blur, not only from the rain but from the tears that kept falling from your eyes. It was oddly quiet but you were thankful he didn't ask or say anything for the longest time.
Usually by now, he would make jokes and randomly laugh at you but he didn't. He was as quiet as you were. He pushed you down by the shoulder, forcing you to sit on his bed. "Stay here, I'll get you something to change into."
He dropped a slightly damped towel on your head. While he busied himself in his wardrobe, you slipped yourself down the carpeted floor, not wanting to dampen his sheets with your overly soaked self.
Funny how he didn't tell you to shower first but it's late and he knew he had to take care of you if you end up getting sick. He walked back to see you drying your hair. "You should take a shower and change." You spoke too soon and looked at his extended arm, a change of clothes in them.
"Can I not shower?"
"Then you'll get sick"
"You'll look after me right?"
Wooyoung crouched down and observed your face, mimicking your gloomy expression but a soft smile slowly formed on his face.
"I don't know what happened but go and take a shower. I'll make you some spicy ramen, you like that right?" Hot tears started brimming again and you were sniffling harder than before.
He took no time and wiped the tears away. "Stop crying. I just told you to shower," locking eyes, he continued on with a playful smile, "or do you need my help?" You quickly shook your head and stood up, grabbing the clothes as well.
After freshening up for the third time that day, you went out of his room and saw him in the kitchen near the stove. "You don't have to do this, you know." You frowned, realising that you must have bothered him.
"Well you showed up all of a sudden, the least I could do is feed you something." He glanced at you for a moment to pass a smile before looking back at the boiling pot.
You should have known that he would always win in arguments, staying mad won't change it so you let him be and walked over to the glass sliding doors.
It was still raining and not a single dry area in his small balcony. You wondered what made you run all the way through the harsh weather to his place.
"Come here and eat." At his voice you walked over and went down to sit beside him, knees hitting each other as you sat crossed leg. "Thank you" You said before taking the first slurp of the springy noodles.
Wooyoung watched as you ate and brought a hand up to pat your head but instead rested it on the edge of the sofa. You turned to him and smiled, eyes still glistening from all the crying.
He was the one with the tear spot but you were the one who seemed to always be crying. "Are you not going to eat?" He shook his head and finally found the courage to pat your head. The gesture surprises you but it calms you down.
Finishing up, you thanked him again and got up to wash the bowl. He stayed back, staring at his palm. Wooyoung didn't want to be hopeful but the way you leaned closer when he played with your hair made him wanting for more.
He heard you closing the tap and swiftly got up to pull you into his room. "I can sleep in the living room."
"No, it's too cold. Just sleep here." You've known each other for a good amount of time but both of you are grown adults now, anything could happen and you were wary of him sometimes.
His love for physical touch makes it hard for you to think properly and no matter how many times he does it, you would still get flustered as if it was the first time. So how were you supposed to sleep in his bed?
He rolled his eyes and patted the space next to him. "I'm not going to do anything. Or I can sleep in the living room if this makes you uncomfortable." You shook your head.
The last thing you wanted to do was steal someone else's bed. "I thought so." Wooyoung chuckled and watched as you slipped under the covers, making sure to stay as close as possible to the edge.
He noticed and leaned over to your side, pulling you closer to the centre. "You're going to fall if you sleep like that." He whispered.
You wanted to say something, anything but nothing came up. You felt his arm leave your body and it upset you more than needed. You have to admit that you rarely initiate anything in this friendship, it has always been him.
Out of all days, you wanted him to hold you and never let go. Turning your body around, you snuggled to his chest. Wooyoung froze at your sudden action and was about to push you away, afraid that he might have inflicted something in you.
“Can you hug me?" Wooyoung didn't need to be told twice as both his arms enclosed your body naturally. One hand rested on the back of your head as the other around your body.
You felt yourself break again, his warmth made you realise that the atmosphere was much colder than you expected. A tear trickled down your cheek and you wanted to curse yourself.
Why do you cry so easily? Or was it because of what happened back at home earlier, the scene rushed back along with the pain you had forgotten while spending time with him.
He heard your sobs and slightly pulled away, kissing your tear stained cheek. As usual, his actions surprised you but it was your turn to do the same. Looking up at him, your eyes wandered to the beauty mark under his eye. He was already so close and it made things easier for you to kiss the small yet visibly mole on his face.
Embarrassed, you buried your head back in his chest. "You know, that's not the only place that needs to be kissed." Confused by his words, you tilt your head up only to feel his warm lips on yours.
He pulled away moments after and smiled softly at you and that's when you understood what he meant. You were in a frenzy of emotions and he just had to kiss you like that. Shock was an understatement. The mole on his lower lip was on full display to you and you couldn't help but stare.
When you thought that you had won against him, he proved that he can win over you anytime. But this time instead of getting annoyed, you felt warm.
From his embrace, to his kiss and to the smile that lingered on his face, you slowly drift off to slumber.
“Yes, she’s with me...still sleeping.”
“Can you tell her parents instead of me?”
“Hmm, I will. Okay, bye.”
You rubbed your eyes and took in the sight in front of you. It was not your room yet you feel at ease. You turned around to see Wooyoung’s back facing you as he was doing something you couldn’t see.
The curtains were drawn out and you noticed the skies were dark outside or it could be that it was still raining. You snuggled into the covers and just stared at his back, taking in the scent around you. It felt like home and you didn’t want to leave at all.
He turned around slightly and smiled at you. “Good morning, cry baby.”
There it was, the real Jung Wooyoung. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at his words. A short chuckle left his lips as he crawled up to you with a playful smile.
“Who were you talking to?”
“Why, jealous?”
You groaned and he let out a loud laugh before pulling you into his arms. “It was my mom. Apparently someone got her parents worried all night.” You rolled your eyes again.
“Well I’m fine, aren’t I?” He said nothing and just stared at you.
“What?” Wooyoung shook his head and just continued to hold you. You weren’t complaining one bit about it. The gloomy weather and the calmness of the morning made you want to sleep back.
“Hey, I made breakfast already, don’t you want to eat?” You answered by snuggling closer to him. You clearly don’t feel like leaving at all.
“Can I stay here with you, woo?”
“For good?” You could hear the amusement in his voice.
You hummed, unsure of a proper answer. “But if you stay here then I won’t see you cry anymore.” At his words, you pulled away and frowned at him.
“Isn’t that a good thing?” He lowered his eyes to your lips, ignoring your question.
“You know what’s better?”
“What?”
“Our lips together.” He kissed you, drowning all your thoughts away. Pulling away moments later, he grinned cheekily at you.
“Next time ask for permission, we’re not even dating.” You lightly bumped your forehead to his. He licked his lips teasingly, smirking back at you and you knew he was going to win yet again.
“I already saw you as mine when you showed up at my door last night. Want me to list everything I did for you?” You groaned in annoyance as he hugged you tighter, peppering kisses all over your face. Your protests and his laugh filling in through the space.
Going through that storm last night was worth it. The skies might be grey but it felt as if there’s a rainbow somewhere.
