You want Nick and Amy to be likeable.
“I’m the cunt you married. The only time you liked yourself was when you were trying to be someone this cunt might like. I’m not a quitter, I’m that cunt. I killed for you; who else can say that? You think you’d be happy with a nice Midwestern girl? No way, baby! I’m it.” (Gone Girl, 2014)

Most Memorable Moments: Take Shelter
Since I slept through the storm in the UK, I decided to watch the best film about storms take shelter. And seeing how Michael Shannon give easily his best performance, it is definitely a memorable scene.
Movie Review: Captain Phillips
I had expected Captain Phillips to be good, and I'm happy to say it was great.
Everything from the CG to the acting is brilliant. Tom Hanks, as always, gives a great performance throught the whole films and cannot find any criticism for him, and in fact any of the other actors. Special praise has to go to the four villains, Mahat M. Ali, Faysal Ahmed, Barkhad Abdirahman and Barkhad Abdi. Each of them are new to the acting industry and this is their first time acting and they were each brilliant. The best performances would have to be Tom Hanks and Barkhad Abdi. They both performed so well, and I think that they both deserve Oscars.
As well as the acting, the writing and directing is great too. There is one scene which is so tense, and so well done I started biting my nails. That is a thing i haven't done in 8 years, and i've never done it in a film before. There are other scenes where i was at the edge of my seats, and there were a few were i laughed, but most of the time i was tense. Throughout the whole film you are in fear for Captain Phillips life, whether you know how it ends or not.
There are some boring moments, but they go by quick, and they do need to be in the film. Without them the film wouldn't make much sense. /so as boring as they are they have perfect reason to be there, and there are only about ten minutes of boring scenes so its not too bad.
Overall i really enjoyed Captain Phillips and I highly recommend it. It is a great thriller.

Movie Review: Blue Jasmine Director: Woody Allen This is the first Woody Allen film I’ve seen, and for the most part, I liked it. Its funny, emotional and a joy to watch. The performances by all if the actors are magnificent. Especially Cate Blanchett. It is spectacular. She was so convincing and I think her preformance is Oscar worthy. Another great preformance suprisingly comes from Bobby Canavale. I know him mostly as an action star, but in Blue Jasmine, he gives his best preformance yet. I just wanted to see more of him. A problem I had with the film is that there were some really entertaining characters who just disappear. This is a shame as my favourite character was Eddy, who just disappeared after one scene. The writing of the film is great. The dialogue is very good, full of wit and emotion. The direction deserves some praise too. Its nicely shot, but I had a problem when it went to flashbacks. Later in the film you get used to it, but at the start, you dont know in what time frame it’s in. The film itself started out well, but about halfway through it gets a bit boring before getting interesting again. Ths is around the whole love story part, but it ended soon so thats a plus. Overall, the film is fun and a joy to watch, so I say its worth the watch. 7/10
Movie Review: Stoker
Director: Park Chan-Wook
Watching this, I expected something a bit more shocking and controversial, but what I got was good enough.
The performances from the leads, especially Nicole Kidman, carries could have carried the film on its own, but with the great writing from Wentworth Miller, and the brilliant direction by Park Chan Wook makes this film a masterpiece.
Chan-Wook adds a really nice style to the film, and with out it the film wouldn't be as good as it is. As his first English film, I think he did a great job.
Te film itself is pretty dark, but the darkest parts aren't developed enough. We are shown it for brief moments then we cut back to the lighter things. I do like the way backstories are told, but I think there needed to be a bit more. I feel that the character, although already well developed, could be even further developed.
Overall, i think the film could be better

Movie Review: Robot & Frank
"Frank: I hate hikes. God damned bugs! You've seen one tree - you've seen all."
This film is really nice. its charming, funny and, at times, sad.
It follows the story of Frank, a cat burglar who is suffering form memory loss. His son decides to give him a robot to help take care of him. At first, Frank doesn't like the robot, but soon the robot grows on him.
Robot & Frank was a really nice film. I really think its worth the watch
7/10
This film is a treat to watch
Movie Review: Pitch Perfect
This film is awful. There is so much wrong in the film I am not even going to go into detail with it.
Firstly EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IS ONE DIMENSIONAL. THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT, HARDLY ANY BACKSTORY, NOT A SINGLE THING. Out of all the characters, I can only think of four who I didn’t want to punch in the face.
I laughed twice throughout the whole film. Nearly every joke fell flat.
The worst thing about the film is the predictability. I wouldn’t mind if the film was just predictable, but towards the start of the film the main character complains about how films are too predictable. WHY WAS THAT THERE IF THE FILM ITSELF IS PREDICTABLE.
There is so much wrong with this film and I just don’t have the time to go through it all, just don’t watch this film
1/10
This film is far from prefect
Movie Review: The Grey
"Once more into the fray, Into the last good fight I'll ever know, Live and die on this day, Live and die on this day."
I cannot explain how brilliant this film is without spoiling it.
All I can say is, the film is so much more than Liam Neeson versus wolves.
Once scene changes your whole view of the character. Just one scene. One. it makes such a big difference to the film. It changes the character completely in a second. I'm just overwhelmed by it. I've never seen it be done like the way Carnahan does it before. It's brilliant.
For those of you who have had the ending spoiled and don't want to watch it because of that, don't make the mistake that I did and put it off. The film would suffer if it was done any differently
