Psychonauts fanart from last Summer

I don't remember if I shared this one but here it is! I cannot tell how much fun it was to revisit this game, graphically and storywise. I only played the first one at my cousin's house as a kid and kinda forgot all about it until I watched a few interviews when the second released back in 2021. I waited a bit for both games to be cheap but I did indulge in a few let's-plays in anticipation.

Doing the whole marathon with the first and second one, I was filled with nostalgia and just reminded me of old school platformers like Alice Madness Returned that I played the year prior.

I would recommend playing both , though the first one didn't age that well and is a bit rusty with the gameplay

Completed another playthrough of Psychonauts 2, now I really want another adventure.

Not sure if we would ever get a 3rd one, but part of me thinks the story should take place when he is young (maybe a few years and not like 3 days after the prequel), as it is his life inexperience that creates some of the conflicts and growth as a Psychonaut. Still, it would be nice to see what he would look like in his prime and the type of mission he would investigate. Adopting a bit of the look of Ford and his father with the beard/moustache while keeping the aviator fashion he had since the beginning.

i’m so appreciative to suzanne for reframing the rebellion from the original trilogy as a “they saw their moment and took it” type situation and showing us that they’ve been trying, over and over, with so many failed attempts, to break the arena and incite a rebellion for decades. in this current political climate never giving up hope is so essential. haymitch wasn’t the first nor the last, and they kept going even when it seemed completely futile, and that’s what counts, and what ultimately saves them all.
