Despite what people liked to say, he did listen to other people's opinions. In fact it had been Matty who suggested he keep this new group on a short leash, which sounded like a good idea. After a few days of preparation he rounded up a few Saviors (and mapped out areas for other saviors to stake out the place outside the walls in case the group got any clever ideas) and headed towards his new community. He'd usually leave this up to his people, they could sort out drops themselves. But this was a special case.

                            And yes, he meant his new community.

                            Alexandria. It had a nice ring to it.

"Knock knock!" He called through the fence, Lucille poised on his shoulder as he looked around. He watched a man he didn't recognize approach the fence looking a little frightened. Good. "I see there is no need for introductions. Don't make me stand out here and wait around all fucking day." Slowly the gate opened, and Negan made his way inside.

So much for them being a gracious host...

"That is what I say.”

There was the familliar feeling of his weight resting on her shoulder, and Matty let out a small sigh as the two of them walked down the road. It was strange thinking about how nice of a day it was out while Negan spoke about killing people. Not just killing people but… Matty knew how brutal he could get about stuff.

But it was a nice day out.

Her dark eyes flashed over towards the man next to her, and she rolled her eyes when he insisted he didn’t like going out there and killing people. “Right,” she said in an amused tone. However he was right about one thing, this… Alexandria group. They’d killed a bunch of people (THEIR people) in their sleep, and for what? What were they even trying to prove? It couldn’t be their strength, and it wasn’t a very brave move either. At least Negan was up front about shit… They did deserve whatever happened to them.

“They better have,” Matty said, shaking her head. “You might want to keep them on a short leash though. People like that? You never know what they’re going to pull next…”

Negan gave her a hard look when Matty brushed off his comment about not liking to do things like this. He didn't! It's not like he went out looking for people to kill, because he -- in fact -- did not. Not at all. He much preferred to stay at the Sanctuary where things wouldn't eat you, and where he was living in the lap of fucking luxury, with attractive women. But did he go out there and cave a couple of heads in when he needed to, abso-fucking-lutly.

                                  And these people deserved a special appearance from him.

                                 Sure, it was... fun in some sort of way, but he didn't go out seeking people to kill. He just did what had to be done. What these people needed to be done, what his people needed to be done. That was all.

                                This was an argument he truly didn't feel the need to have with Matty though, so he was fine with speaking about other things. More important things. Like Matty's advice about Rick and his group, and nodded. She wasn't wrong.

"Yeah, seeing as how I don't trust these fucking people as far as I can get my foot up their asses, that's what I was going to do. I usually leave shit up to the rest of the guys, but I think I'm going to have to go with them and check this fucking place out for myself-- see what kinda digs they got. Make sure they don't short us." He shifted Lucille across his shoulder, and looked over at Matty, "you gonna come with us?"

He looked around suddenly again wondering, “where the fuck are you even going?”

Matty watched as the truck drove pass, and let out a small groan when she heard it stop, and someone get out. She held out her last hope that it wasn’t Negan but of course it was.

She turned and gave him an up and down look before pulling a face, "you look fine. If you were hurt I probably would have heard about it before I left. Don’t worry, I wasn’t leaving so you would have to suffer until I came back.” Matty gave a sharp smile, and rolled her eyes. Men complained so much, especially the ones who were supposed to be tough, and dangerous. Women weren’t afforded the same opportunities, of course.

“So, how did things go? Did this new group agree to your ‘deal’?” She made sure to do the air quotes. But maybe it was cold of her to speak so flippantly about what she knew Negan and the rest of the Saviors had just been doing. To be honest though if it got her people more supplies… Well…

There were a lot of people living back at the Sanctuary, and people all over the Outposts. They needed a lot of stuff.

                "That's what you say," Negan intoned, but she was probably right. She'd never left him to suffer before.

He rested his elbow on the girl's shoulder as they strolled down the long, road among the cover of trees, but before he could actually ask (AGAIN) where the fuck she was even going she asked how things went. And well, fuck, if there was anything Negan wanted to talk about at this very fucking moment it was what had just happened.

"It was great, and fuck these people deserved it." Negan said glancing over at the girl next to him with a nearly sickening grin. "Sometimes, I gotta say, some groups... they don't deserve it. You know I don't like doing this bullshit. It just needs to get done." That was what he often liked to say, at least. "But with these fucking people? What kind of coward ass move is it to kill people in their sleep? I can respect the balls it takes to fight back, but shit, Kid. These fucking people..."

He shook his head, and gave a dramatic sigh, "I think they got the picture this time, though." If they knew what was good for them.

Matty had a daily schedule, she made sure things at the Sanctuary were set up for the day, then dealt with any injuries that needed to be dealt with. By some miracle though whever Negan and his guys were doing last night they didn’t come back with any of their people hurt. Good for them she supposed, but that meant by about noon she literally had nothing to do– and she’d never been the type to sit around and do nothing.

So, instead of doing that the young woman grabbed an empty duffle bag, a machete, and a sawed-off then left. She gave one of the other Saviors a line about heading out to the outposts to pick up more medical supplies so he’d drive her out of the Walker filled field surrounding the warehouse, and left on foot when she was a safe enough distance away.

They’d be fine without her for the day, wandering around aimlessly wasn’t really that much fun… but it was better than sitting around on her ass all day.

They'd headed back home in small groups, it was safer that way. A lot of the Saviors went back to their outposts, and the rest of them made their way back to the Sanctuary. His group went the long way, so the fact that they were driving until the next afternoon wasn't surprising, but it wasn't some bullshit Negan liked either. It just meant he wasn't in much of a good mood-- which put him in an even worse mood because he should riding high as hell at the moment.

        So, he was feeling a little short tempered when he watched them drive past Matty on the way up the road, "stop the truck."

               "I--" The man behind the wheel looked surprised, but slowed down to a stop, "I don't think it's a--"

                         "I don't give a flying fuck what you do or don't think," Negan said grabbing Lucille and opening the passenger side door, exiting the vehicle. "Get back to the Sanctuary, I don't need you waiting around for me-- but I'm gonna be honest, if I'm not back in a few hours you're sorry ass is probably fucked for letting me go." He gave a nonchalant shrug, and shut the door behind him. "See ya later."

After that it only took a few minutes to catch up to the young girl with a machete strapped to her back and an empty bag in her hand, “You better be leaving for a good fucking reason, Kiddo. I could be hurt.”
