This might be a random post but I thought I’d like recommend Maze Runner fics because I always see people asking for recommendations so here’s my favourite fics. These writers are incredibly talented so definitely show them some love.
1. “Spirits in my head (and they won’t go)” by CountingRaindrops - Its a Thominewt fic
2. “Spend your lives in sin and misery (in the house of the rising sun)” by CountingRaindrops - Its a Thominho and Newtmas fic
3. “Memories and Futures” by Sam1966 - It has hints of multiple ships in it, a small bit of Thomesa. Buts it’s more focused on Thominewt. It’s still in the middle of being wrote, there’s 11 chapters so far.
I lowk knew nothing ab bball so since I actually play this sport here is HCs on what everyone’s positions would be based on the tmr lore:
Newt: Setter
duh, he’s The Glue and is required for the team to score. If you piss him off you’re not getting set. (sorry Gally)
Thomas: Libero but begs to be a pin
He’s the chosen one and is almost always on the court, makes sense. He gets subbed out to serve though, the pressure gets to him and he faints lmfao.
Gally: Middle
Always always always getting in the way of the setter and sometimes takes second touch via shoving Newt out of the way. Will crashout at his team if they mess up. But man does he have a good swing when Newt gets the timing down on his 1 ball.
Minho: Captain + Outside / Pin hitter
The man the myth the legend. Outsides typically are the ones doing the most work and never come off the court, seems right for him. He is still a short king and swings into every block bc he thinks he’s better (hes not)
Fry: DS (defensive specialist)
This man never sees the court and it’s not because he’s bad at it. The dude is just perpetually getting injured somehow.
Im too lazy to write out the other side characters but i assure you they get six on the court trust
Jorge is their Coach of course. Brenda is Assistant Coach and Teresa + Chuck are resident cheerleaders.
Thinking about the significance of Thomas being shot after being told he could save the world to show that he is still human, he’s still vulnerable and just a teenager.
