Sometimes he felt like he was born on the wrong ‘side’, as he felt a lot more relaxed and like he belonged to, when he was sailing. He loved his hometown, and his family, but the pressure of being a royal, along with the stress, was sometimes too much for him to handle, he also felt like he didn’t belong in that life, like he wasn’t born to be a royal, even more to be a crowned prince, the future king of Finish. He didn’t think that he belonged there, but when he was sailing, it seemed like all his problems disappeared, even if just for a little while, it was already enough for him to feel more relaxed and better. It was the good side about being on that island, he didn’t have to deal with royal duties, and the media, nor with the rules.
When she said that the sea relaxed her, he felt bad that she couldn’t sail like they did before, she probably missed it. He was aware that they stole things from other people, she was a Tulach, he knew that, but what if she didn’t agree with it? Was possible, right?
“I think every pirate is like that, you guys seem to have a connection with the ocean, I’m sure that you miss the sea, I get that,” he admitted, “I know it may seem weird, but I do too, I used to sail back at home.”
“I feel like a selkie, sheadin’ my scales, not knowin’ when’s the next time I’ll be able to put them on again,” she admitted. “She’s my home,” she told him, unsure as to why she was divulging this information; to a stranger, and a royal one at that. But the words seemed willing to pass freely from her lips. “I was born on the ocean, grew up on her. Only left the ship when I had too. In fact, my entire life has emphasized how un-akin land and I am. The one time I properly set foot on the stillness of an island, my parents were murdered,” she uttered. “Pains me more every time I have to leave it behind; however dramatic that may sound,” she added, pressing her lips together. “But my family are here most of them time, and having a place we can all be together, that’s worth riskin’ my scales,”
She was sharing too much, she had already shared too much. But talking about the ocean, that was easy, that was comforting. She felt safe speaking about the ocean.
Isabella looked to Carlos, arching a brow. “You sail?” she asked him. “Used to sail--?” she corrected herself. Her brows furrowed. “Like us? Or-- smaller scale?” she asked. She paused, before finding herself sitting down beside him. “Where--?” she asked.
