Zelda Borne // 27 // Maid at Hideaway Hostels // Witch
Growing up as a witch with magical abilities was beyond magical to Zelda. Though the first time she had a vision it was terrifying. She ran crying to her sister, Helena who also had magical abilities. Her first vision was not one she would ever forget and was one of the most terrifying ones she had. She has not told a soul, not even Helena, to this day what it was and never plans on it.
Helena's magic was much different to Zelda's. Necromancy was scary but Zelda was fascinated by her sister's abilities. Then when the incident with her friend's dog happened everything changed. Before young Zelda knew it she was being whisked away to a new town and a new life. She hated it.
Being in Evermore wasn't so bad at first, except that her sister was so high strung and wanted nothing to do with magic anymore. Realizing they were stuck there forever though was devastating. Zelda missed her family and her friends but she had no choice but to settle into Evermore and live her life there until they could find a way out. Though, it didn't seem like Helena was as hellbent on leaving as Zelda was.
Zelda had to train herself to be able to control her visions and go into a focused trance so she could see the unknown at will. Mirror scrying took a lot more practice as it hadn't come as naturally but over time Zelda was able to perfect her art there as well.
As she got older and began to figure out who she was as a person she realized she felt restricted by her sister in every aspect in her life. They fought, lived together, but in the end Zelda loved her sister more than anyone. Her sister was like home.
She doesn't hate her job, but she doesn't love it either. It's a job and she's thankful she has it and a roof over her head, but she always aspired to be something more. Not even a powerful witch like none other, she was content doing her magic but does wish she could be a little more open about it. She longs to be something bigger in the world though, not just a maid.
She's become very good at becoming sneaky, especially since she had gone behind her sister's back before. She wouldn't say she's proud to be an expert liar, but she is. She had to become one in order to survive.
She would love to maybe find the one some day but she feels the need to stay with her sister so she isn't left alone. As much as she would love to escape she cannot bear the though of leaving her sister alone. Zelda would never forgive herself and she would feel so guilty. She tried to leave her sister once and that was how she found out one couldn't leave Evermore. It's left her ridden with horrendous guilt ever since, and she spiraled shortly after trying to leave. It was rough because the guilt was eating her away and she hasn't forgiven herself for it yet.
As much as she wants to find love she guards her heart so she won't fall too fast and end up hurting someone and herself in the process. For now she has little flings here or there but dips the minute it becomes too serious. She's resorted more to hookup culture these days.
Zelda doesn't mind going out and having drinks with friends but rarely will do drugs. She feels like it messes with her magic. Other than mushrooms, which she sometimes uses to enhance her visions, she strays away from them.
She's trying to slowly figure out the rest of her life while worrying about Helena and keep herself happy. It's a stressor, for sure.
She has a familiar, a black cat-- of course, her name is Twila.
