Mommyhood

The one thing I’m happy about is sticking to a bedtime schedule for my kids during the summer. Although school is out, my boys still-go to bed at 7:30! I let them stay up later on the weekends as if school was still in. Mamas, do you still stick to a bedtime schedule during the summer for your little ones. (Btw, my boys are 5&2)!

Day 1

It’s been 24 hours since I started drinking the blessed thistle supplement. My milk supply hasn’t increased. I haven’t nursed but once and baby girl still gets frustrated with the milk not coming fast enough. My goal is to increase supply so I can start back nursing more often than I pump and to build a tiny stash. If I could pump 24 formal oz a day, I’d be happy! Wish me luck mamas! 🤞🏾🙏🏾

Milky Mama

I’m on a journey to increase my milk supply. The fenugreek pills are getting to where they don’t work so I’m trying the blessed thistle drink. I had my first cup earlier when I first got off and pumped 1oz total from both breast. I’m currently drinking my second cup. Hoping to see an improvement t within 24 hours.

On this day last year I was admitted to the hospital. It was such a relief bc I could no longer bare the pain of being pregnant one day longer. I was two days overdue and experiencing intense abdominal pain. When I arrived at the hospital, I was told I was barely one cm dilated. This was heartbreaking. The dr saw that I could no longer withstand being pregnant. Since I had a terrible experience with being induced my first pregnancy, I knew this was not the route I was willing to take. The dr understood my concerns and decided to go the natural route. I was given medicine to soften my cervix which was a 12 hour process. I didn't care bc I was dead set on not being induced. Fast forward 12 hours later, the medicine worked and I began to dilate. The contractions started kicking in and after receiving an epidural all was right in the world again as I waited patiently for my baby boy to make his arrival. A little after 3pm everything started moving quickly. My water broke & I went from being 8cm dilated to 10cm! It was time to push! With only 6 long pushes, baby Ware made his appearance into the world at 3:28pm on June 22 weighing in at 8lbs 9oz and measuring 19.5in. It wasn't an easy journey but it was well worth it seeing that sweet, squishy face for the first time. It was definitely love at first sight!

I'm really trying to keep my 💩 together. I'm trying my best to find the positive in every situation but it gets hard sometimes. I just keep reminding myself to pray until something happens!

Yesterday marked my 25th week! Baby Ware is now the size of a baseball glove. Although I don't LOOK like I'm 6 months pregnant, I definitely FEEL 6 months pregnant! 😆 The newest symptom to creep up on me this week is the dreaded heartburn! 🔥 I guess it's time to lay off the hot peppers and sriracha chips! 🌶 The bigger I get the more I feel baby Ware's movements. 👣 He loves to practice his gymnastic moves at night while I'm sleeping/very still! 😩 As the weeks progress, I realize just how little clothing I have left in which I can fit into comfortably. I am so happy it is getting warmer out so I can throw on a cute Spring dress and not have to worry bout if my pants will button/fit over my thighs today! 🤗

The cravings are real! During my 1st pregnancy, I craved Mcds. I craved it so badly I would literally wake up at 2&3 in the morning just to get Mcds. 😩 I was obsessed with their double cheeseburgers and nuggets! With this 2nd pregnancy, I crave sweets (hated sweets during my 1st) and most importantly Burger King! The strange thing is I'm not even a lover of whoppers and whopper jrs but constantly find myself cutting out coupons for 2 whopper jrs and fries! 😩 The good thing is, I don't wake up at 2&3 in the morning wanting BK but those cravings be hitting me every other day! #TheCravingsAreReal

20 Weeks

Today marks 20 weeks on the pregnancy calendar which means there's on 20 more weeks left to go before baby Ware shows his presence! I'm so excited for the birth of my second child. Baby Ware is very active as of late. I'm getting to where I can actually feel his tiny movements inside of me. I'm adjusting to the fact that I will soon be a mom of TWO boys! I'm praying K and C be as close as ever. I love the bond my husband and brother-in-law have. I'm hoping for such bond for my two boys. Now I have to change my hashtags to #MyOnlySONshines 👦🏽👶🏽

Anyone experiencing or experienced round ligament pain? I am and it's mostly in the bikini area. Hurts when I get up and walk or move a certain way in bed. Is there any way you can relieve the pain/discomfort?

We've been busy in K3! This week was all about getting back into a routine! The first week back from Christmas break is always challenging because the students have been at home with their families and have not abided by a daily routine. For the first week back I have been reiterating the rules to help get us back on track. For the most part, most students have faired greatly. To kick things off, we are reviewing the letter Ff! We discussed the book "Funny Fish" and today we made fish using our handprints! The students love when we get to use paint. They enjoyed this activity. They each had a chance to paint their hand and use their fingers to make the green squigglies. They turned out great! 🐟 Although this has been a challenging week, I enjoyed returning and seeing all 16 of my students' smiling faces! 😁

T is for...this is our craft of the week. We are learning words that begin with the letter T. With thanksgiving right around the corner, it is only right we do a turkey craft project. This was perfect for my K3 class. I worked with each student individually and was able to notate which students could recognize the letter T and the colors. All in all a great project!

Last night I was lying in bed with my son. We had just finished saying our nightly prayers when he gently wrapped his arm around my neck and said, "You are my best friend, mama." At that moment, all my worries went away and I realized just how blessed I am to have such a loving little boy! I love my Kady K. He's truly my greatest earthly blessing and my entire world!
