is there any info of sexuality on pokemon from a scientific view?
Officially, there’s not. I don’t want to pretend I have any authority on this topic, but I’ll tell you how I personally think of it!
In the Pokemon world, Pokemon fill the roll that animals fill in our world. So, thinking of Pokemon as animals, I’m going to take reference from the real world. And in our world, I believe it’s fair to say that a large majority of animals would be classified as straight, as many animals operate on instinct to pursue the opposite sex to reproduce. That said, there are recorded cases of animals that fall all over the LGBTQA+ spectrum, though for obvious reasons it’s more difficult to document this in animals than it is in people. Regardless, there’s a lot of evidence of animals having a variety of sexual orientations, though some of the more nuanced sexualities are likely impossible, or at least much harder, to accurately recognize or prove in animals.
However, I would argue that Pokemon are more intelligent and sapient than the majority of animals in our world, so I think that they could or would express more individuality when it comes to sexual/romantic preferences; on a level similar to people.
So, reflecting both animals and human nature in our world, I would suspect that Pokemon would have a varied mix of sexualities all over the spectrum. There would likely be a majority, or at least a large percentage of straight Pokemon, as they have to be able to sustain their population. But with Pokemon that are as intelligent, or even more intelligent than people, surely their sexualities could be as complex and nuanced as our own.
