some ppl on swapbot are kinda mean and elitist ngl. It's really not newbie friendly, and I was hoping with me having several years of experience with the happy mail community at large would make it easier, but it really isn't. It's super cliquey in the sense that people with seniority have superiority that they're allowed to break rules if they want but if you don't have ratings (which are up to other people to do, not you) then you're on extremely thin ice.

Like I understand not wanting people to scam people out of swaps but it's also like. To a point you have to be open to new people too otherwise you're just an echo chamber.

Not to mention 80% of the swaps I've received have been given only a portion of the effort I've put into them, and these people have 100% ratings, so it's not like ratings really tell you much of anything about a swapper.

And then there's the "kawaii" swaps that I am actively interested in joining, but they only allow like 15 specific brands, when there's like 200 kawaii brands. Like I collect this shit I would know

Plus there's people that will rate you down if your postmark is off from the deadline by a couple days even though that has nothing to do with the day you put the mail in the mailbox and everything to do with how fast your post office HQ is 😭

it's extremely discouraging. Idk. I'm just gonna keep trying and hope it gets better.

Through Postcrossing, I received a truly one-of-a-kind zine. It is called "What If Ducks Replace Human Mail Carriers?" It is so cute & adorable!

The little envelope had a letter and duck earrings. But the earrings were unfortunately damaged during the delivery :*(

So glad there are people making these awesome stuff in the world and I get to enjoy them 😍🥰
