Karkat watches the reaction with wide eyes, he’s never seen this much disgust at his blood color before, and honestly it’s starting to scare him. However the drug in his system is starting to dull that reaction, as well as his ability to speak coherently, “WHERE DO… WHERE SIT?” he manages to ask, a bit too late since at that moment his legs gave out and he landed on the floor with a thud.

He winced at the thud, pulling another pair of gloves out of his pocket and putting them on. Sweeping up to the mutant's side he tutted on a sigh, struggling to pull him up and over to one of the chairs he had. It was almost like a human dentist chair, but with a lot more... wires.

"You can still hear me, correct?" he asked, finding a flashlight and hesitating a little before touching his face; checking the dilation of his pupils. The anesthetic was settling in nicely, and before long he was setting up various diodes on Karkat; forehead, monitoring the first-hand results on a nearby monitor. "I've never tested anything on a.... mutant before, so I'm not sure how you're going to react to the anesthetic in full." Eyes narrowed at the monitor, Liethe adjusting his glasses. "That's new."

Karkat definitely doesn’t like the look of the man about to stick him with a needle, but he holds himself still as he watches all the preparations the troll makes just to inject something. He goes stiff as he feels the prick of the needle, and then watches the other, waiting for the injection to kick in. He glances down at the drop of blood, and then at the other’s expression and takes a shaky step back, glaring. He’s starting to lose control over his reactions, but he manages to growl out, “YEAH IM A MUTANT. SO WHAT?”

Immediately, Liethe tore the gloves off and whipped them across the room. Glad he'd put them on before... before... He'd touched it. A distracted push-up of his glasses was given before a flustered sound left him, and he tried to regain his composure. At least the anesthetic would kick in soon and Liethe didn't have to talk to him anymore.

"F-filthy," he mumbled, out of any range Karkat could hear. "I've n-never... had the chance to... encounter a mutant before. That's all." Okay. He could do this. "The anesthetic should start working soon. I'd suggest sitting still as to not shock your system and fall over and hurt yourself." As hard as it would be not injure the mutant himself. He'd show restraint.

Karkat was not at all soothed by the grin, and instead it managed to put him even more on edge, but as he hears the scientist tell him what would happen to him he forces himself to nod, praying that the other can be believed. He nods shakily and replies softly, “F-FINE… INJECT ME WITH THE THING THEN”

Grinning once more, he nodded in a most agreeable way. "Splendid. Let's get this over with, then." Taking the syringe, he moved to clean it yet again - and double-checked to make sure his gloves were on properly.

Approaching Karkat again, he took his arm and prepped the area with an alcohol swab. Scrunched his nose at the smell. He hated that odor. "This'll only hurt for a moment." He waited for the other troll to calm down, and with a precision only an eccentric scientist (or trained professional, either or) could manage, he quickly stuck him, and emptied the syringe. "There." Smiling, he extracted the needle, and - what was that. Eyes widened as a drop of blood left the site, Liethe taking a horrified step back. His blood. His blood. "Y-you're..."

He bites his lip as he thinks about what he just got himself into and his eyes widen as he hears what’s in the syringe. He shakes his head a little reflexively, not wanting anything in him that would make it harder for him to fight back, “W-WHAT TESTS? C-CAN’T YOU TELL ME WHAT YOURE GOING TO DO TO ME BEFORE YOU FILL ME WITH CHEMICALS?” he asks, scared as hell still from the speech earlier.

He held up his free hand in an attempt to soothe him, a shark-like grin on his face that he tried to make as calming as possible.

"Nothing terribly strenuous. I won't make you do physical labor or anything. More mental than anything else." Light glinted off his glasses as he tilted his head. "I want a look at your thinkpan, Karkat. I want to see how well you tick. Research purposes. And I don't have to cut you open or anything." He pointed across the room to his computers, and tapped the horn-mounted computer he wore. "I'll hook you up, get a look. We'll see where things go from there."

Karkat’s eyes widen as he hears the growled threat. He shakes his head, going faster and faster as he hears more options for what could happen to him and he lets out an involuntary whimper and finally as he sees that the other can easily call the thugs back his shoulders sag and he nods silently, wishing he had the guts to disobey further, but too scared of being taken apart.

Instantly, the frightening façade fell and he appeared pleasant again, pushing his glasses up on his nose once more.

"Splendid. I do hate unnecessary effort put into things. It wastes both my time and yours." Leaving the countertop and intercom, he held up the syringe. "Now I promise it won't hurt. It's just a mild sedative to hopefully keep your muscles from spasming too much. I have quite the handful of tests I'd like to perform." Gap-fanged smile was shown again. "I can't promise it won't hurt. But I can promise that if you behave no lasting damage will befall you by my hand."

His eyes widen as he sees the syringe and he shakes his head, backing up further, “HOW ABOUT WE DO NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS I LIKE THAT OPTION”

Sighing in exasperation, he rubbed his temples.

"One way or another you're going to help me with this. Whether or not you make it out in one piece remains in your hands. Cooperate with me or I'll make it so you can't even walk out of here." He growled, stepping closer. "Would you like to leave in small but functional pieces? I can wire you up, Karkat. I could have your head in the hygiene block but your body on the pailing slat and have both parts in perfect working order. I could send you out of here in a bodybag still talking. Science is a goddamn miracle, Karkat. As per the rules I won't kill you, but I could sure as fuck make you wish you were dead."

He paused his threats, scowling as he walked towards the little intercom, finger hovering over the button to call the guards back. "Are you going to comply?"

Do not try my patience, Karkat." Giving the other an appraising look, he moved to one of the countertops in the lab corner of his room, grabbing a small vial and a syringe. Turning back towards Karkat, he raised a brow.

"Are you going to cooperate or do I need to call your friends back?" Liethe would resort to violence if need be. One way or another, he'd subdue the troll now within his power, and get some work done.

Karkat growls and rolls his eyes, “WELL WHEN I EXPECT AN ENTRYWAY OR A BEDROOM I REALLY AM NOT THINKING OH IT MIGHT BE A SCIENCE LAB. WHY THE HELL DID YOU HAVE THEM BRING ME TO A LAB? AND DONT THINK I DIDNT SEE THAT SMIRK YOU ASSHOLE” he grumbles out, staying on the chair and crossing his arms. He shifts nervously as he sees Liethe looking him over and bites his lip at the question, “HELP YOU WITH WHAT? PROBABLY FUCKING NOT I DONT MAKE A HABIT OF HELPING ASSHOLES WHO THINK ITS OKAY TO FUCKING BUY PEOPLE”

With a look that spoke insincere sympathies, he shrugged a little helplessly.

"That's neither here nor there, is it, Karkat? The fact of the matter is: I asked you a question, and I expect an answer. Not more questions. I'm doing you a tremendous favor in asking at all." He stepped closer, gloved hands loosely clasped in front of him. "You should be so lucky to begin your ownership in my good graces." He paused to push his glasses up his nose. "Not many others have been so fortunate."

Karkat glares and crosses his own arms now that he’s realized he can’t get the door open, “AND HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT SHITSTAIN? YOU THINK THESE GRUBMUNCHES TELL ME ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT WHERE IM GOING? THEY FUCKING DONT” he replies angrily. He growls under his breath as he sees the grin right after being told that he’s not getting out of this, at least not easily. He sighs and walks over to the chair (not wanting to imply anything by getting onto the bed) and sits down, “I DIDNT… MY NAME IS KARKAT VANTAS”

Smirking a little at the choice of chair over bed, he finished his glass of water and rinsed out the cup, placing it into the rack to dry.

"Ah, Karkat. I'm Liethe. It's a pleasure to meet you." Walking towards him, hands in his pockets, he looked him up and down as he approached. Visibly appraised him. Kinda scrawny. Definitely short. Maybe not good enough for anything long-term, but good... enough.

"How'd you like to help me out with something, Karkat?" Smiling, Liethe pulled some latex gloves out of his pocket, slipping them onto his hands. Seadweller really didn't like getting his hands dirty.

Karkat glances up at the hive, struggling as hard as he ever does, and nervous to meet a new master. He has no idea what to expect, since no one ever bothers to tell him anything, and so the sight of a lab on the inside as opposed to… well any normal sort of living quarters, made him uneasy. He especially doesn’t like the look the seadweller was giving him. He glares at the guards, but they just toss him in and slide the door shut behind him. Karkat lands sprawling out on the floor, but gets to his feet as fast as he can and backs up towards the door, shaking his head and glaring, “ALRIGHT ASSHOLE WHO ARE YOU AND WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS LOOK LIKE SOME SORT OF SCIENCE LAB INSTEAD OF A FUCKING NORMAL HIVE?” he asks as he reaches behind him to try to open the door, praying that maybe the thugs had left it unlocked for once.

Liethe's eyes narrowed at the words coming from the troll's mouth, his arms folding over his chest as he studied the subject. "That would be because it is a science lab. Idiot." Rolling his eyes he stepped into the kitchen area, fishing around for a glass. "I heard the door lock, by the way. It won't open unless I tell it to." Grinning up from the fridge, he poured himself a glass of fresh, cold water.

"You're welcome to have a seat, if you'd like," he offered, gesturing towards the bed and also a nearby char. "I'll only be a minute. What did you say your name was?" He took a long, well-deserved drink. Wonderful.
