I love that Dogfish is one of my local breweries. I also love the very cool artwork by Jermaine Rogers. #dogfishhead #jermainerogers (at Mouse House)

STONE BREWING GO TO IPA
With the weather threatening to break soon and the cold temperatures waving goodbye, it’s time to continue drinking great beer, but with more choices for your surroundings. To put it simply, it’s time to drink outside. Stone Brewing, already known for fresh, fantastic IPAs, has a new offering this spring, Go To IPA. It’s not only perfect for an outdoor drinking session, but is also ideal when you want to drink more than one. It packs all of the dry, bitter, hop flavors and aromas into a very manageable 4.5% ABV package — ensuring you won’t have any trouble making it back to the fridge for another round.
Just got these guys in yesterday!
We told you Stone #EnjoyBy 04.20.14 IPA was a game-changer. Now, see just how much the game and social interaction around this massive, uber-fresh #beer has changed | http://bit.ly/ebipasite
Bring it.
The biggest bottling and distribution of Stone Enjoy By IPA EVER is coming this month. Stone Enjoy By 04.20.14 IPA going to 40 STATES!!! And it’s a game-changer. Check out our new #EnjoyBy site. http://bit.ly/EnjoyByIPA
We are all waiting with bated breath.
Avery was definitely going balls to the walls when they decided to name this beer "Great King of all IPAs". That is my interpretation of it anyways.
But really though, "Maharaja" translates from Sankrit to "Great King" and this just so happens to be a damn fine IPA.
Good job, Avery!
[Avery Maharaja IPA (CO)]
Details:
Style- Imperial IPA
ABV- 10-12%
IBU- 102
Hops- Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook (Dry-hopped with Simcoe and Centennial)
Malts- Two-row Barley, Victory, Caramel 120
Impressions:
Pour- Hazy, burt orange-amber
Head- Light and fluffy, one finger. Lasts longer than I expected and leaves some lovely lacing.
Smells- Grapefruit and apricot with some pleasant piney notes floating in
Flavor- Stronger malt presence than I expected which kept the high ABV hidden in plain sight (this is a sneaky one, folks). It still had plenty of nice, citrusy flavors to appease the hop cravings.
Mouth Feel- Full and velvety
Finish- Lingering citrus with a honey-like sweetness
All details found here: http://averybrewing.com/our-ales/maharaja/
Coming soon to a bar near you.
Is it Oberon season already?! Time flies on the beer clock.
