I'm drowning in feels because I'm watching The Outsiders D:
"——You seriously don’t know? This is about me trying so hard for nothing. Absolutely nothing. You didn’t even ask if I was alright.”
"——You are making no sense! I'm sorry okay? --I guess I should just let you go."
Enzo met the blonde’s eyes, grabbing on to the door frame to keep from tipping over, "Was I not enough, Caroline? Am I just some guy that helped you through everthing? Am I even a friend to you?" He hiccuped.
The aroma of booze stuck to him and only worsened when he opened his mouth to speak. Furrowing her brows, she didn't quite understand what he was talking about. "Enzo-- Of course we are friends. What-- What brought this on?"
Text: I miss you. I know I shouldn't be texting you, seeing as you hate me, but I just wanted you to know that I miss you.
[text: Stefan] Stefan. It’s to late for that. I needed you and you weren’t there. You can’t just waltz back into my life because you feel bad.
Stefan didnt hesitate to knock, instead he opened the door, knowing she wouldn’t have it locked, and moved into her apartment, “We need to talk.” He quickly met her eyes.
She had heard his footsteps the moment the had arrived outside her door. When he barged through her door, Caroline kept her eyes focused on the ground. A sigh passed between her lips as she fumbled with the blanket. "I don't want to talk, Stefan."
"——No, Caroline. I was wrong to have hope in you. I was wrong to think that…that maybe you were different. Better. You can’t guilt trip me, Caroline. I have no reason to feel guilty. This is on you.”
"My fault? What did I ever do to you? Is this about you being taken by a hunter? Just talk to me, Enzo. Please."
"——Stefan! Ah, Stefan, Stefan…Stefan. You know…this isn’t about him. This is about you. This is about…doesn’t matter. You proved to me what you really thought so…I’ll leave you be.”
"Fine, Enzo. Go. Dissappear into the void of people who were once there. You just proved to me that I was wrong to ever count on you."
"——I thought you were different. I thought that you saw me for who I really was but I was just a convenient person when no one else would stand by you.”
"I do see you, Enzo. Is this about Stefan? Please-- Let's talk in person, okay?"

Slipping into her pajamas, Caroline heard a fumbling coming from outside her door. Brow raised in confusion, she slowly walked towards it. Quickly pulling the door open, she jumped slightly when she found Enzo standing in front of her. "Enzo!"
"——Pretty much. Didn’t think it mattered.”
"Of course it matters, Enzo! --I thought you were different."

Stefan didn’t bother texting back, instead he made his way to her apartment, knocking on the door lightly. He knew he had to prove it to her because he didn’t want to live a life without her.
Setting her phone down for the final time that night, Caroline slid back into her position on the couch. No one had ever said that losing people was easy, especially when you're the one who cuts off all ties. Pulling the blanket up around her, she tried to rid herself of a chill that had settled in her after leaving Stefan.
"——I don’t think you are. I’m not coming back. I’m leaving for Italy in the morning.”
"--So you are just going to run away? You weren't planning on telling me."
"——In bed with a gorgeous redhead named Lacey. Why?”
An eye roll later she huffed into the phone "Well, get out of bed. I'm coming to get you."

[text; Caroline] No Caroline. I’m tired of repressing my feelings. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship, but I love you. I’ve loved you ever since our danceat prom, when you told me I’d meet someone new and fall madly love without even realizing it.
[text: Stefan] ... [text: Stefan] People who love each other don't turn their backs on each other. People who love each other are there when you need them. I tried to be there for you. I tried to keep our friendship alive. You left, Stefan. You left and started a whole new life without even saying goodbye. And then when Enzo turned your newest little girlfriend, you tried to pawn her off on me so you could do it all over again. [text: Stefan] Do you honestly expect me to believe that what you feel is love?
"——Enzo here. How can I help you?”
"Enzo-- Where are you?"
"——He smirks and nods as the girl frowns and speaks. “Um…who is this?”
"Really?" she questioned, a hint of anger present in her voice. "Put Enzo on the phone. Now."
