“Loose ends” Is gonna be a REDDIE webcomic inspired on IT by Stephen King.
Summary: Semi AU. It’s been four years since the kids faced IT down the sewers. They’re all in high school living normal lives being as good friends as ever; then Richie hears his old self warning him about something important.
Old Richie’s grieve and regret is so inmense that this other, seventeen-year-old Richie somehow listens and feels the pain of his other self. And knows he has to do something different this time, to not end up like this alternate Richie.
I’m mostly inspired by the book and some things from the old and new film. From the new film I’m using the date setting and the appearance from the characters which are more “popular”.
Why is REDDIE one of my favorite ships right now? Well, I’m 34 years old and I’m an old time fan of IT, and by that time, it was a huge taboo to ship gay couples. –And apparently still is for some people–.
There’s NO question what Stephen King intended with these characters. Since the whole theme about the novel, as redundant as it may be, it’s fear. And the way this great author managed to tell so much about homophobia and self-loathing is just brilliant. And it’s also kind of funny that these so-called IT fans didn’t actually catch it. I get it from -some- the teens that just got to know this story, but if you’re more than 20 you should know a bit more better.
And no, I’m not okay about sexualizing kids. I’m giving for granted that we all know what the word means.
I also heard about this drama with the actors… You can think whaterever you like, just leave the kids alone.
And finally, if you don’t like REDDIE. I don’t care. If you enjoy this, you’re welcome, if you don’t, then go look something else you do enjoy and let others be. That’s it.
