maker of the year
literally
how (dan)loumand was moving 1986-2022 apparently
I love the word "beeline." youre in such a hurry youre doing bug movement
Daniel calling Armand friendless and a shitty dad who abandons his kid
itâs the way miss americana was framed as this massive, tearful political awakening where she finally broke her silence because she couldnât bear to be on the wrong side of history... only for her to pivot entirely in every aspect of her life + releasing 47 vinyl variants of the same album to block independent artists + dating problematic men while the world burns. the documentary was nothing more than a marketing campaign to rebrand her as an underdog. she literally told us sheâs a mastermind, why are people still shocked when the math adds up to pure capitalism? and before anyone tries to yell misogyny: it is entirely possible to think the media historically mistreated her and think her current corporate greed is indefensible. both can be true. equality doesn't mean women get a free pass to operate like a multinational conglomerate without criticism. she explicitly capitalized on a faux-feminist, politically active rebrand in miss americana to gain cultural favor. weaponizing feminism as a shield against legitimate critiqueâlike her silence on human rights issues or her massive carbon footprintâactually degrades the movement. you can love her music and still recognize that billionaire status requires exploitation, regardless of gender.
i dont even interpret âuwuâ as a smiley i just read it as âoo wooâ
when you like tvl so far and go on twitter
i love the 3x05 loustat scene in the car bc weâre immediately right back where we started. louis launches into a monologue about claudia, trying to process something related to his responsibility towards her, and all lestat can think as he sits there listening is why isnât he asking about me. he might as well be lighting playing cards on fire; itâs 1x05 all over again. louis is unable to move on (âclaudia, come home. i know i hurt you, i know i can make it right againâ) while lestat feels abandoned and retreats into jealousy and victimization. ânext time someone tries to murder me, pick up the phoneâ is 95ish years removed from âi have patiently waited in vain for you to love me as i love youâ, but they mean the same thing. they expose the same vein in lestat. so much has changed. this hasnât changed. claudia is dead. but this hasnât changed. do you think they find something a little comforting in that?
dude is so excited to ruin everyone's night
The reveals this episode makes the scene in season 2 so much more funny. Daniel giving shit to loumand for having Lestat as their shared boyfriend when the whole time heâs been the third in their little psychosexual experiments. Ha ha you both fucked Lestat says the reporter to the two vampires, one of whom has been chasing him around for half a century and the other one whoâs been sitting at home with a clipboard jotting down the findings
It's twice now that they've shown us what words can really hurt armand. he's unaffected by any insults, even references to his traumas "your daddy groomed you into a little bitch" "are you a ragdoll for sale?", until it concerns his desirability. like how his famous yandere meltdown starts only when louis calls him boring, and when he has a hurt look on his face and leaves lestat's concert after he sings "he asked me 'was it good' I said comme ci, comme ça". because amadeo is supposed to have a skill, and if you remove the one thing that he thinks makes him useful to others, he's nothing. just an eager black hole
the dm scene great but my favourite part was when armand added in a little gossip in the middle of all of the "for 52 years i have loved you and remember when you needed to cry really bad one day i made sure you got to do that alone in a pretty church and i have done little things for you and loved you for that long and also lestat is FUCKING HIS MOM isn't that crazy"
