Goals are as I'm planning on using my laptop more to minimise doom scrolling and to be more productive I'll use THAT blog and it's side blogs more so than this one, aside from my ask blogs I have which will I'll be answering all the asks for at the end of my day as a sort of wind down interaction with my fandom community <3

Guys it's my fanfic, you can read it on here too (below) but like, yeah. It's rusty and shit cuz I haven't wrote one in a long long time, and I don't do fluff. Usually, either I'm writing angst or smut, the last 'fluff' I wrote was when I was 8 lmao

Negan's lounging on the sofa in his wives' lounge, boots off, bat propped against the table, one leg swung over the other as a hand works one of his wives' hair absentmindedly. It's warm in the room, probably all the bodies, with the wives' new perfumes blending and dancing with the notes of Negan's leather jacket. I'm standing near the small table, polishing some of Negan's glasses with a small cloth. He'd recently came back from unloading the supply trucks from Hilltop and he was buzzing, sitting next to me on the table was a shiny new prize - a sealed bottle of whiskey. 'Ain't that a fuckin' rare sight' he'd said as he placed it down, 'brand fuckin' new drink, untouched, a virgin.'

Truly, I'm only half listening to his rambling, as he lists off all the things, especially proud of the fact he bagged that perfume he made us all put on, he claimed it was his 'gift to us' for being such 'good ladies'… ugh, how condescending. However, I'm not exactly in the mood today, stuck in my own head mostly, and I knew it's not inherently his fault but his excitement over soap is something I can't keep up with. Even still, I know I'm paying his glasses more attention than him, and that won't exactly fly so I reluctantly turn my head slightly and feign my usual energy as to not arouse his suspicion, I really wasn't willing to deal with his ego-pestering 'I am your husband, and if you can't talk to me then what kinda fuckin' wife are ya?' mentality.

"Negan, love, you want a drink?" I smile slightly, but it doesn't meet the corner of my eyes, "with all the talking about it one would assume you'd have popped it open already."

One of the wives, Tanya, laughs at my joke a little, probably to make me blend in a little better due to my sudden question. Negan doesn't look at me, his head remains tilted towards the wife that's pressing her tits against his side as he murmurs a reply in that low, gravelly voice of his, "'course, sunshine, why don't'cha pour me a glass," I can hear the smirk break through his lips as he adds, "Daddy Negan needs to celebrate his empire, and it sure as fuck ain't gonna pour itself."

I hum in response, grabbing the bottle as I begin trying to pry open the seal, hoping to just go back into blending in with the wall when he speaks to me again, "so, why ain't my favourite lil' lady sitting with me, hm? She feelin' shy today," I glance and notice him looking at me with a tilted head over his shoulder, "or did I piss you off?"

"Not at all, Negan," I whisper, struggling with the seal, "just had a long day, that's all."

He chuckles, looking at the others before saying, "well shit, Sherry, you hear that? Lil princess over here had a busy day, what she do, hm, tell me, Sher."

I cringe as I hear Sherry's reply, agreeing with Negan that I was just doing what everyone else was whilst he was gone, trying to distract myself with the bottle, but I groan in frustration as the seal just refuses to break, my eyes narrowing, "stupid fucking bottle," I murmur.

"Struggling there, sweetheart?"

"I'm fine," I growl out the response, probably more annoyed than I intended, but with my frustration my hand slips and I accidently knock one of the glasses onto the floor, freezing as it shatters, almost not registering as a few shards dart into my leg. My face pales as the conversation stops and everyone falls quiet, shocked at the break. I stand there, quiet, staring at the glass-snow on the floor, my throat tightening as I recall just how many times my father had… shit… tears prick my eyes.

"I asked for a drink, not a fuckin' wreck," Negan mumbles, running a hand down the side of his face as his eyebrows furrow, my ears ring and my eyes reluctantly glance at his face. I can't bring myself to meet his eyes, my gaze fixed on his jaw. I try to reply, although no words come out, I notice one of his wives standing up with concern and I watch her lips move as no sound comes out. Before I could fully register what I was doing, my legs push me forward and I dart into his bedroom, slamming the door shut and sinking to my knees against the wood.

On the other side of the door, unbeknownst to me, Negan had clocked the small drops of blood from my leg against the wood. I bury my face into my knees and try to stifle my tears when I hear a quiet knock. It wasn't like his usual knock, this time it was just two gentle raps at the door, followed by a quiet, "… Darlin', I ain't mad, let me in."

"I…" I swallow, nervously, "I… I can't…" I manage to choke out, rubbing my eyes with my hands, I can feel his eyes burning through the fucking door.

"I know you're hurt," his voice goes unnaturally soft, "just let me in, y/n, I can't let my little train wreck bleed out all over my rug now, can I?"

I hesitate, before shifting forward and opening the door, my eyes averting from his instantly, too upset to meet his judgement. I heard him step in, as he moves behind me, closing the door as he enters. I hear him sigh as he lowers himself down onto the bed, not needing to look to know his eyes were fixed on me.

"… look at me, Darlin'."

I meekly meet his eyes, trying not to cry again, "I… I didn't mean to, Negan, it was an-"

"Christ, Sweetheart," he cuts me off before I can finish my apology, "you make it out like I'm a monster," he chuckles as he leans forward, propping his chin on his hand, "I ain't mad, it's just a fuckin' glass," he pauses, "sure I'm pissed that I don't have my drink, but I'd fucking drink it between your damn tits if you asked nicely," he grins but I look down, not blushing like he'd expect. He clears his throat when he realises it didn't land and stands up again, kneeling before me, "show me your leg, Darlin'."

I glance at my leg, the adrenaline wearing off - it sure did hurt. Like a bitch. I end up stretching it towards him quietly, "I didn't mean to…"

"Fuck you're like a broken record," his hand gently takes my calf, as he traces the glass with his finger that had found itself wedged into my skin, "y'know, you shouldn't hide this shit from me."

"I know," I watch his hands as he carefully takes the shard out with his fingers, blood trickling down my skin, "I just… he…"

His grip tightens a little, "you on about your fuckin' bastard of a dad again?" His sharp eyes meet mine again.

I nod reluctantly, "y-yeah, I… I'm sorry," I look away but before I can fully turn my head a gentle touch turns it to meet his eyes again, his thumb stroking my cheek as his gaze searches mine.

"… I wish I could fucking kill him," he mumbles, "that cunt hurt you and that ain't gonna fuckin' fly here, got it? I'm not a fucking woman beater."

"I know your not, Negan," I lean into his touch sub consciously, "I'm not… saying that just… I remembered how he used to get when I'd beak stuff…"

He sighs as he shrugs his jacket off, "you're safe here, got it," I glance at his muscles, watching as they sub consciously flex, my eyes scanning his tattoos before they drop to his hands. One of them was undoing the bandage wrap he had on his wrist - he'd put it fresh on this morning, "I ain't gonna let shit hurt you, get it in your dumb head."

I flinch a little, moving my leg away but he grabs my ankle, "Negan I, I don't need it, I'm fine."

"Bullshit," he looks at my leg, "you're bleedin' so fucking hard that I'm surprised my floor isn't red," he shakes his head as he continues unwrapping the bandage, "sure it ain't sanitary but we got fuck all."

I flinch a little, but I don't fight as he wraps the bandage tenderly around my calf, his hand pausing towards the end to graze the skin of my leg. The intimacy almost made me forget the pain as my eyes flicked to his, "you're not usually this gentle, Negan… where'd the man I married go?"

He chuckles again, "fuck me, you wound me, sugar," he leans back as he finish the wrap, before his eyes soften a little, "now that's sorted, care to tell me how you thought fleein' was gonna help?"

I blush, looking away, my hand finding his and entwining with his fingers as I whisper, "I thought if I ran you wouldn't yell…" no more words had to be spoken, he know my past, how often I'd be beaten for breaking something small, he'd seen it in how I try to make myself look small… and even still, he treats me like everyone else. It was weird at first, but sitting in front of him now, I felt something only akin to safety with him.

He sighs, tugging me closer and leaning against the bed, wrapping his arms around me - I sat there, stunned at the embrace, as I feel his voice vibrate against my head, "darlin' I ain't gonna yell at you…"

"I know…"
