OPEN TO ELLIE AND VALKYRIE
alloykineticmind:
Erik could feel the moment Ellie’s shield started covering him. The stabbing feeling in his mind from the Supergiant was dissipating he was finally able to grasp a hold of the metal on her and squeeze. There was a shriek that fell from the alien’s mouth and Erik was able to fling her back about a foot. With his other hand he was able to conjure up so metal to throw at the few of the creatures coming toward them.
“We have to keep them here and her occupied. Just keep hitting her with everything you got.” He answers her as he flies up into the air, bringing metal up with him and hurling them toward the Supergiant.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," Ellie couldn't help but keep muttering under her breath, feeling the strain of pushing herself mentally that much. She hadn't really trained for that- she hadn't really trained for much of anything really. Colossus always had them on pretty minor ass missions, and sure she got roped into following that jokey fucktard around sometimes, but that never felt as close to end of the world shit as this did.
She grit her teeth and tried to concentrate even more, a short, frustrated laugh leaving her. "Yeah, did that, didn't seem to impress her all that much," she said, but her companion was already in the air. Ellie closed her eyes for a moment and let the mental shields drop for just a moment, just enough to really focused another blast of energy, maybe enough that she could supercharge those metal projectiles and make them something really special. "I like that your plan is that we basically keep doing this until we both get too tired and inevitably loose. So some assholes I've just barely met can go save the world. No one ever told me being a superhero was going to be so much fun."
ohmystarl0rd:
“What are those?” He asked, he was amused by her. He didn’t get amused easily. [yes he did.] But rarely did he show it. “I got some tricks myself.” He said, nothign was a natural power like hers, but it was pretty cool anyway. Rocket boots? No one had rocet boots… on terran.
"My party tricks?" Ellie said lifting a potentially amused eyebrow. At least until she decided against it, shrugging just a little. "Nah. You don't deserve it." She did gather just a little energy in her hand though, the orb crackling and growing. It actually made her smile a little. "Is your trick your stunning wit? Because I'm already very impressed."
ohmystarl0rd:
Peter Quill listen to her speak. He enjoyed her orb? He couldn’t tell if she was on the young side or had really good genes. She had the same sort of mood at Carol. He couldn’t help but smile a little. “Oh, over there.” he said pointing to the large ship. “You everbeen to space?” He asked. “And whoa, I will do my best to try and NOT piss you off.”
Ellie hadn't actually expected there to be a ship, and looked almost impressed. For maybe half a second. Then she schooled her expression and let out a soft huff of a laugh. "Oh you know, every other Tuesday," she said and then smiled a little sarcastically. "I haven't even showed you my party tricks yet, and you're already scared of me? Pretty cool, man."

alloykineticmind:
erik thought being pulled from his time to another was bad. but this, this take the cake. not only did he come across something identified as an infinity stone, but he has to keep it from getting into the hands of some other being from space. he’s dealt with a lot of shit in his life time. including the sentinels and apocalypse, but this way above his paid grade.
not only that but it was super annoying having her dipping in and out of his head. this is why he should have kept his helmet on, but no. the constant press of her conscious was making it hard for him to get a steady grasp on the metal that he could feel woven into her outfit.
“alright, can i get a little help over here?”
Ellie had been fine volunteering to help take down the big badass that had apparently made half the damn world disappear, but she hadn't really thought she'd be signing up for defending party jewelry from some giant telepathic bitch. She was thinking more blow everything up. That was what she preferred to do, and waging psychological warfare was really more for other people to try and do. Not her.
She wasn't very good at controlling any telepathic part of her powers, nothing that wasn't just rage and energy, but she could do enough to keep a block up against that bitch trying to crawl into her mind. She could see Erik struggling grit her teeth and focused on trying to push that little personal shield she was wielding out a little bit wider, even as she was gathering the energy around herself and flinging all she could at the Supergiant. If the first thing didn't work, at least the second part should distract her enough for something else to, right? "If you have a better game plan, I'm down for it," she managed to call out, trying to gather energy for another blast.
ofcable:
swirls of power erupted around him as he stepped through the portal he’d created. time travel was a bitch, you never know where you’ll end up - or how you’ll end up, but if there is one thing cable knew about himself, he knew that any chance of making it was a fucking miracle.
inhaling sharply, he stood in what seemed to be the past, not so bad, but definitely not where he was aiming for. turning to his side, he glanced over at someone who had witnessed his arrival. “what? you’ve not seen a guy with a god damn metal arm before?” he snapped, sighing internally over it. he glanced around again before staring back at the person, “you see an idiot in a red spandex suit by chance?”
After slumming it in the 90s with a bunch of people that were more irritating than not, Ellie was glad to be back in some kind of crazy semblance of reality. And to see and even somewhat familiar face, even if it was Mr. Monotone, who was totally stealing her thunder with the whole, lack of visible emotion other than anger thing. It was her shtick first.
"Not the idiot you're looking for, but I have seen a few more red spandex suits lately. I think it's starting to be a really annoying trend," Ellie replied. "You seem cheery, where did the comet send you? It can't have been worse than the 90s. Everything was intensely lame there. Too many hipsters having too much fun with it."

“i just want everyone to like me, is that too much to ask?” cassie jokes, “kind of weird when you’re in a place like this with such cool people around and definitely not as cool, but, that’s like my whole life… so. yeah.” they smile, wide and reminiscent of their father’s, “i’m forcing everyone to be my friend, one by one.” they look back to the person, “that’s how my day is going, how about yours?”
Ellie watched the girl a little impassively and started wondering very simple things like- would she ever stop talking? Would she realize that Ellie wasn't really paying much attention and stop, or would she just ramble on until they actually turned to dust. She was halfway to some third possibility when Ellie heard her finally stop and then she blinked. "Oh are you done now?" Ellie said, eyebrow lifting. "Everything's just peachy keen for me, thanks for asking," she said, a fake smile on her face. "Also, you're trying way, way too hard. Kick it down like five or six notches."
ohmystarl0rd:
Peter Quill lifted a brow at this young angry teenager. “Peter? We are not going to all die.” He rolled his eyes. He crossed his arm over his chest “unless you know something I don’t?” He asked. He wondered if she knew something like they were dying and she wasn’t saying anything! “Wait, who are you? Are you some fortune teller? ” He asked. “And you want some good tech? I got some aboard my ship.”
"Speak for yourself," Ellie said and let out a slow breath, wondering why everyone seemed to manage to annoy her before she even took a first breath. Maybe it was a her problem, but she really thought that everyone could tone it down just a little bit. "I know that right before this fuck off comet took the lights out, a shit ton of people just disappeared," she said with a glib kind of smile. She rolled her eyes. "No, I'm not a fortune teller, I'm just intelligent. Must be hard for you to comprehend." Ellie lifted an eyebrow when he mentioned a ship though. "Where? We should go. Right now. I'm Ellie by the way, don't piss me off, we might be fine."
cfthwips:
“Uh, yes?” Peter was going to get his outfit, no one was going to stop him. He wanted to enjoy his time in the 90s. Until he figured out some way to actually get time travel going, now was his only chance to enjoy it. He was sure once he figured out the whole time travel thing it would be way less exciting, but for not, he was thrilled. “I mean comets happen all the time, that’s space. Sure, this seems to have wiped out communication, but that could easily be due to some metal we don’t know in the rock. This is far from end of the world shit really. Just a normal tuesday.”
"To me, being in the 90's is pretty end of the world. I had it pretty good back home, finally, for the first time," she said, some emotion starting to creep gently into her voice, before she could push it back again. "Your lack of concern is really charming though, good work," she said with a sarcastic thumbs up. "Makes me worry for your Tuesdays though. Mine have a lot more battles, less time travel and less being stuck without backup." Ellie sighed and finally gave him a hint of a smile. “Ellie. Or Negasonic Teenage Warhead if you want to use all that fancy superhero shit.”
gloriouspvrpose:
“are we any closer to figuring out how to get out of here?” loki groaned, rolling his eyes dramatically as he folded his arms across his chest. “there’s only about a million places i’d rather be than here, stuck with midgardians who have terrible fashion senses.” but at the same time, loki knew he had nowhere to go as it was. “i simply don’t understand the excitement others have for this era.”
Ellie couldn't tell if that was a dig at her in particular or just the fucked up nature of 90's fashion in general. "This is called lesbian chic, thank you very much," she said and smirked, lifting a middle finger. She shrugged. "You and me both, though. I don't get it. I just want to get back home." She looked the other guy over. "You're not from here, are you? And honestly...you're the one critiquing fashion? You need some help. And a shower, greasy."

EVENT 001
❝ am i the only one pumped about this?! ❞ he cried to a bunch of faces he didn’t recognize. it had only taken johnny about a minute to figure out what had happened. having landed right next to a radio shack, the only thing playing on the TVs were 90s commercials. in the store windows, there were bedazzled jean jackets and corduroy pants; no one would wear that crap today. no, he knew where he was and he couldn’t help his giddiness. ❝ the 90s were the greatest! oh, hey Sue- ❞ he looked around and walked through everyone who was around and no one had seen his sister. johnny couldn’t remember the last time he had been without his sister for more than a day. ❝ where is Susan? ❞ stuck in one of his favorite eras and his sister was missing.
Ellie leaned back against the wall, her arms crossed over her chest. She was seeing more and more displaced people showing up, and none of them seemed to be as upset about it as they should be. "The party is that way," she said, pointing to her left. She was almost amused watching the real consequences dawn on the new kid, and she shook her head. "Not here. I don't know if you got that, but there's a lot of people that aren't here anymore. Or maybe we're the ones that got lost." She shrugged. "Either way, we're definitely fucked." She smiled then, just a little and lifted her hand in a small wave. “Ellie. Welcome to 90s hell. It’s much less cool when you realize all the power’s out and people are freaking out.”
ohmystarl0rd:
The music was pretty good in the nineties. Starlord liked the way the grunge rock sounded, but the grunge fashion? It looked dirty to him. He knew the 80s was no better, but it wasn’t any worse? He looked up at the first person he saw. “Hey!” He called out. “what’s going on?” He asked, hoping to get some answers.
Ellie always felt a little like she had something burning inside of her, something hot and angry. She didn't know if it was just her powers, or if it was something that had led to her powers, but either way, she couldn't remember being this pissed in a long ass time. Like she had to work hard to contain herself. And on top of it all, her fucking phone wasn't working. Time travel was fucked, she knew that for sure. "What's going on is that 90s tech sucks, and we're probably all going to die," she said in her characteristic monotone, one eyebrow arched. "Who are you?"
cfthwips:
Peter wasn’t a child of the 90′s but he was going to fully enjoy the chance the experience it. If he had known turning into a pile of dust would lead to getting to finally be a 90s kid, he might have done it sooner. “I’m going to need some parachute pants, a fanny pack, and one of those fun coloured rain jackets stat!” He looked to the nearest person, hoping they could point him towards a good clothing store. Thank god he had some cash stored on him.
"No," Ellie said, looking up from where she'd been futilely trying to get any of her coms to connect. Whatever the fuck this was, it was making it hard to reach the Mansion, and that meant she'd probably have to walk. Since there would be no calling for the jet in her future. Time travel was a bit of a bitch, but at least it was kind of par for the course for the X-Men. But the lack of working anything was putting a damper on everything. "You don't think we have better things to worry about? Big asshole comet? End of the world shit?"
ofthetimestone:
“oh… my god,“ stephen breathed out, his expression fixed upon the glowing neon blue and yellow sign of the currently-not-shut-down blockbuster. the sorcerer had already lived through the nineties, he didn’t want to relive through it - and right now he really wished he had the time stone to reset everything back to normal. gritting his teeth, he stepped back, turning with a whoosh before giving a glare towards the person nearest him.
“we need to figure out how to get out of this living hell,“ okay sure, maybe a bit dramatic on his part, but stephen wasn’t exactly one to play himself down. “and if i see any animal-print anything i will personally rip it off of someone and burn it in front of them,“ he stated, raising a brow and challenging anyone to try to disprove him.
Getting back to the mansion, if it was even possible here, wasn't something that seemed like it was happening anytime soon. What with everyone freaking the fuck out about the electricity and phone lines. So Ellie had effectively given up for the moment, finding a spot to sit down outside the Blockbuster. She'd considered stealing a pack of cigarettes and taking up smoking now that she'd lost her connection to Angry Birds, but seeing the utter devastation on the man in front of her was amusement enough.
"Did living through this decade once leave you with that amount of psychological scarring?" she said after a moment, an amused eyebrow lifted. "I guess we're not in the era of the Me Too movement so you won't get the sexual harassment charges when you do." She sniffed. "I don't think anyone's getting anywhere soon, unless your magic power is time travel. Is it? Because that would be super useful right now."
