Catholicism does inherently involve child abuse and cannot be separated from it. Child sexual abuse within the church is a form of institutional rape. In order for institutional rape to occur, there must be a core power structure which allows that abuse to thrive and go unchallenged.

Also can we fucking talk about Saint Mary and how Christianity (of which Catholicism is just another flavor idgaf) is founded on the forced impregnation of a child? She wasn't even sixteen. She was between twelve and fifteen.

In the eyes of Catholics, this made her the ideal mother because she was "pure and innocent."

A great deal of Catholic art (and religious art of Mary in general) is intentionally vulvaic. Her child body is praised as a breeding machine.

the main problem with this post is that there are statements made, but the evidence is supporting statements that have not been made. for example: ‘catholicism inherently involves CSA’ is a statement, but ‘in order for institutional rape to occur a power structure must allow it’ is an argument for a different statement. but this argument is presented as an argument for the leading statement, which is something of an issue.

#bad take i think we need to understand what the word inherent means before using it #and i think we can also remember that mary was an engaged woman #yes she was young #twelve to fifteen is a stretch #fifteen to eighteen is much more likely #and again. she was ENGAGED. to be wed. and it was a normal thing in her community #a correct thing? that is up to you to decide #but it was a normal thing to have been engaged to be wed at her age this was not a shock or a forced endeavor as far as any evidence suggest #suggests #so was she pregnant young?#yes.#would she have been pregnant young REGARDLESS of whether or not she was the mother of christ?#yes!#just because you read one (1) angry tumblr post about christianity does not make you an expert on the matter unfortunately if you are going #to make incendiary statements about the religion #please devote approximately one hour to actually learning about what you would like to talk about

One of the compelling things about Project Hail Mary is that you can't fix it.

"What if Stratt didn't force Grace to go?" Then the Earth dies.

"What if Yao and Ilyukhina had survived?" Then they all would have died in space, not enough food to get to Earth or Erid

If the Taomoeba hadn't escaped then Grace would have never seen his best friend again. Returning to a world he loves but no longer recognizes.

If the stars weren't dying then Grace never would have met his best friend at all. Living content but alone.

Project Hail Mary is a hopeful story. It is a story of friendship and what it means to be brave. It's a story about saving the world.

But you can't remove the tragedy of the story without making it unrecognizable. It's written into the bones.

Grace goes swimming! Rocky is not thrilled.

Eridians cant "hold their breath" like humans do, their vents dont close completly so water can still get in, if they fall in water they drown and die. safe to say rocky is not a fan of when grace does it for fun xD
