ink splayed across white like tantalizing streaks of calligraphy on fresh parchment: it smelled of kaneshon and yellow sage, of love and health. unable to resist, a clawed hand extended to caress, carding through those delicate tresses in an out of character show of fondness.
tips of pointed nails traced along pallor cheeks and jaw, and a thumb dragged slow across rosy tiers. his mate said nothing, chestnut orbs observing the methodical touches with gentle warmth. the couple did not need to say anything to communicate, to understand, and this was something sesshomaru had slowly grown to appreciate over time. instead it was small touches like this that spoke volumes: a sharp scrape of canine to inner wrist screamed desire, laying a head to shoulder whispered trust, the intertwining of fingers admitted endearment.

"i am already a mother," she would explain, those warm ambers glowing as she watched over both rin and kohaku with such attachment that the lord was reaffirmed this was the one.
this was the one human among mortals he wanted to walk beside as an equal, to have and to hold for the rest of her days. had the idea of marrying a human been mentioned to him a hundred years prior, he would have sooner slaughtered the person responsible for such a wild claim. . . but now, the daiyokai swelled with immense pride to bare the honor of marrying such a refined and elegant, powerful and mysterious, beautiful and lovely woman.
