He lounges, eyes closed, arms behind his head and teetering on the edge of sleep. Akise isn’t home - of course - he’s at the library leaning back in a chair displaying a profound sense of balance with the way he leans back in his chair and doesn’t fall over. There’s a book open in front of him; unread and serving entirely as an excuse for him to stay there unbothered.
Mostly unbothered.
He leans forward forward to read the texts on his phone and clicks his tongue in annoyance.
TO: EIKO FROM: AKISE
[txt]: kei. i think.
[txt]: it is donut day. and ive taken advantage of that and visited every donut shop nearby. like ten whole shops.
[txt]: did you know that shits free today??? Free.
[txt]: but uh no.
[txt]: im not getting donuts for you or your dead arm. and i have a few reasons for that but mostly just no.
Kei blinks at the phone, unimpressed, while swinging his feet from the edge of a mezzanine atop a long since condemned building - teeming with lively spirits, the occasional rat, and not much else. This is not the first time he has failed to understand his brother and his repeated insistence upon making everything as obstinately difficult as possible.
He decides the safest bet is pretending to be Eiko (a plan with somewhat debatable merits as their oldest brother has never shown any particular favor to one or the other) and quickly backspaces the scathing reply his fingers had automatically tapped out in retort.
TO: AKISE FROM: EIKO

[txt]: but i bet you could make it better with donuts
[txt]: you said they were free right?
[txt]: so it shouldnt be a problem....
