Dear all, It is with great sadness that today I announce the shutdown of Nelipott Music. After much consideration and months of coming to my final decision, I have decided to stop publishing any articles. Firstly, this letter probably seems a little OTT to most, but letting go of something I’ve put absolutely everything into for the last 3 years feels like it needs a real ending, and some sort of explanation. Over the years of running Nelipott Music, I have had some incredible opportunities – I’ve made new friends, I’ve interviewed some of my idols, I’ve attended awards ceremonies, and even had meetings at some of the biggest record labels in the world - but most importantly, I’ve had a platform to introduce you all some really talented content creators. The fact I had people publishing articles from all over the world under Nelipott Music is something that'll continue to blow my mind. Nelipott Music stemmed from a hobby, and gradually turned into a business venture with no money behind it whatsoever. I won't lie, it’s been extremely hard maintaining a semi-professional website which brings in no income, alongside working full time in a completely different job. Over the next 6 months I have plans to travel, move out, and various things that are unfortunately in the way of me putting my all into Nelipott Music. I always told myself that if the website (or anything) ever became a chore rather than a hobby, I’d stop. I’d like to take this time to thank every single writer, photographer and contributor I’ve had helping at Nelipott Music. Firstly, Kelly Ronaldson and Sophie Weller, you were there from day 1 and for that alone I’ll always have so much love for you. My best friend, Emily Hatzar, who’s knowledge and degree in Music Journalism really helped myself and the website in general. Aimee Thompson, for holding down the editing side of things for the last few months and putting your all into each and every article you published. Lorna Mackinnon, Jazmine Bradley, Heather Hook, Sophie Dodsworth and Jade Warden – thank you for your consistency. And finally Lisa Jaffray, Faye Cranham, Juliette Carton and Emilie Warren – you might’ve been the “newbies”, but your help and interest in Nelipott Music over the last few months is still greatly appreciated. If it wasn’t for any of you guys, I would’ve given up a long, long time ago. I hope to start blogging again in the future, and if and when I – or any of the Nelipott team do - I’ll be sure to update this page with where you can find us and our projects. Although no new articles will be published to Nelipott Music, you can still access the Author Archives via the homepage. Finally, thank you to every single one of you that ever took the time to read an article – your interest is something I’ll be eternally grateful for. I really hope I’ll continue to have your support in whatever the future holds. Lots of love, Jayde Engledew - Creator of Nelipott Music x
