Brightshine Jubilee 2016

This month, all of dragonkind come together to participate in the Brightshine Jubilee. This festival celebrates the light flight. Our most prized possessions, Immaculate Tablets, can be found by using any gathering profession in the light territories this week. Neutral and light-aligned monsters also have a chance to rarely yield these items as drops in the Coliseum. They may be crafted at Baldwin’s Bubbling Brew using alchemy reagents. buddy a full set of sprites would cover my rent and food for at least a month but possibly longer, do you think i give a shit about losing my pixels if i can’t use them to survive? i’m beyond the point of caring about this account because i have to feed myself until i can find another job

consider this: i had a hobby to relax while i also had a job. now i have neither of those things and am in a worse situation. lives aren’t static.

i’ve been playing on petsites since petsites were a thing, yes, since the earliest days of neo and before, when it was a silly college site and we had goddamn Bruce Forsyth as a pet option (before the legal issues around that gave us the penguin bruce that we all know.) Things were better, now they’re worse – it happens.

but if you think i’m not gonna sell my pretty pixels for whatever i can get, i’m legitimately happy that you’ve never found yourself in the situation where you have to rely on something like that. i mean that genuinely. i hope you never have to throw yourself out there into the shaded underbelly of the petsite trade to cover your rent, that you never have to pawn things that aren’t worth much monetarily, but are priceless emotionally because your car broke down /again/. that you’ve never had to loan money that you didn’t have because your family needed it and they’re even worse off than you. i hope you never have to spread yourself too thin for too many things and skimp on the basics of living to get by, and i don’t mean wifi and cable, i mean choosing the cheapest food you can, not even ramen but beans and rice, because that is all you got, and eating it for weeks and weeks and weeks and savoring every bite because it’s keeping you going.

just remember that sometimes people aren’t just being cheap or shady. sometimes they’re doing what they have to to get by, even if it means breaking arbitrary rules on a petsite that probably won’t make it past ten years if i’m being honest.

i don’t know where the fuck empathy went in the last 20 or 30 years, but sometimes late at night i wonder.

It’s definitely not all about cheating and being shady, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills. Not all of us are 12 year olds who live at home with mum and dad.
