I have TWO coloring books coming out through Hay House this year.

I've never done a coloring book before. So, it's been real exciting.

One of the fun parts was taking one of the pages and coloring it in digitally for the cover.

I'm not great at digital art... but I think it came out pretty well.

What do you think?

The title of this book will be:

Backrooms Movie

[Usually, I would post this on my personal blog, but I watched the Backrooms movie on Monday, and it made me realize I really need to lean back into a level of surrealism that's probably been missing from my stuff for a bit now. Along with some little lore snippets that I haven't dug into enough!

Also, without spoilers, Backrooms is pretty much everything I could hope for with liminal horror. It does something incredibly interesting with the premise of the back rooms of reality, which I haven't seen in ANY liminal media before.]

protective human Kokichi x anxious Alien Shuichi flavored space fae au

basically the idea is take the concepts of human pack bonding and violent protective behaviors that humans are space orcs/fae/australians posts like to really ham up, apply that perspective on humans to a human Kokichi, and mix it with Shuichi being part of an anxious prey alien species to get a really fun saiouma dynamic

imagine being Shuichi in this scenario; you're part of this big interspecies crew and in the crew is this one human, he's small for a human but he makes up for it in his outlandish and attention commanding behavior, and of all the crewmembers for him to attach himself to he chooses you- and then falls for you. this imp of a guy who's a member of a predatory deathworld species known for becoming violent when their mates are threatened looked at your anxious prey ass and went "yeah i want that one"

he isn't sure if Kokichi sees him as weak and in need of protecting or if he's just unknowingly irresistible by human standards, but he does know this situation is going to be horrible for his blood pressure for multiple reasons
