Like my description says, this blog is just to post my writing out there into the world and possibly get some attention for it. Kinda need it if I'm gonna, ya know, be a writer one day.
I'm hoping that by making this post, winter will come early just by manifesting it, and I can stop working at a restaurant that doesn't have AC. :'(
Anyways Gabriel in winter vvv
Gabriel slowly simmering rich chocolate chunks in a pot of milk and cinnamon— he would even top it with the tiniest dash of vanilla before pouring the hot chocolate into mugs for his beloved. The tiled floors below his feet are cold to the touch due to the snowy storm outside, but he rushes to the safety of the living room couch with the mugs in hand.
Blankets and pillows were already prepared in light of the storm coming through the land. With a heating pad plugged into the wall, it was a good spot to drink the chocolately goodness without worry of the outside cold. Gabriel and his love could sleep here, talk about whatever comes to mind, or enjoy the great blessing of living together.
In peace, protected by the chilling storm outside their home.
I have another musing to share with you all, and the theme is ballet!
Gabriel uses many weapons during his fight with V1 (Lance, Greatsword, Axe, etc) and has his twin swords at his hips, which he can use in melee. He performs each strike with the surgical precision needed to slice the air, but it belies the strength of an angel personally built by God.
In short, he's beautifully perfect at fighting with a multitude of weapons, and I can't help but imagine how that must translate into certain dances. Personally, I was interested in ballet when I was a girl, so I will be using this as my example.
Angels are expected to be perfect; they are perfect— so every move must be a mirror of such beauty. Every arch must be a smooth wave of motion; every tense muscle must be dramatized and purposeful for the show, and every pose will be perfect.
I think Gabriel would be perfect for ballet, but in that same sentence, give him enough time, and he can master any dance.
We all know the famous line, 'May your woes be many and your days few,' that Gabriel gives in-game after defeating him, but one of my personal favorite lines is the iconic,
"Be not afraid, sinner. Your devotion to god shows goodness in you. Plentiful indeed. The heart is willing, but the body must rest. Lest you squander one of the lord's creations."
This moment, from a reading standpoint, or even just in a lore stance, is wildly unlike Gabriel. When Gabriel addresses sinners like the husks in Lust and Greed, or rather, the lack of addressing the husks left in Limbo— Gabriel is following out the orders of the Council, who obsess over following the words of God.
This obsessive nature the Council holds toward following the word of God is shown to the viewer that it does not fully possess Gabriel in that same manner in a single interaction with the Ferryman. For the first time in the game, we are shown (as the player) that Gabriel can hold compassion for another and/or genuinely save a sinner from certain death.
It's a complete 180 from every other piece of lore one can find scattered about in the layers: books describing the death of the King of Lust and Greed, in which Gabriel proudly declares that the death of the citizens' leaders is the will of God and must be carried out. It goes against the bloody 'traitor' written over his own visage, and the many visages of his that can be found in the layers, and against our understanding of his character.
When I first played Ultrakill, I immediately clocked that nearly every statue was of him, the ornate stained glass in his image, and the painted murals on the walls were all of him. Not only did it seem prideful and/or boastful, but it also seemed like propaganda. It serves as both a warning and a reminder to the husks in these layers of their fate if they dare to unionize again...
But in Wrath, when we see that hologram of Gabriel and hear him say those words after reading the book— it's like actually finding a needle in a haystack.
It's a shocking discovery.
The way Gabriel speaks in that moment is incredibly soft and soothing; it's out of this world, not only because it's an angel speaking, but also because no one would expect Gabriel to sound this compassionate toward what is essentially a stranger and a sinner.
And on top of that, it's the only visage of Gabriel that we see that doesn't have some negative connection with it. It's not propaganda, it's not made by a husk in Limbo, fearful of their fate, and it's not made out of boastful pride.
It's made by someone grateful to have been saved by Gabriel.
It's just something I like to think about. (Also, I think this song fits Gabriel pretty well.)

how would the powers(or what i called powerling)react/handle being big brothers if we had another child with gabriel??? how chaos would it be?
Just a quick recap for others: if an angel were to lie with a human woman, not only would the offspring be a giant child called a Nephilim, but the angel itself would become a fallen angel because the angel went against God's plan and lusted. So in reality...
It would be a betrayal. I think, yes, some Powers would still be loyal to Gabriel; others would be torn between supporting their fallen mentor and God; and the rest would fall under regrettable disdain, cause if Gabriel can't uphold God's Will—they would have to be the runner-up.
So, Gabriel would fall to Earth along with the child and be left to find a home to raise the giant without fear/doubt. He is very strong, and surely if he was to lie with a human, he would know the consequences enough to prepare himself for not only the fall but also how to take care of the child.
But I can see the few loyal Powers visiting at night to speak with Gabriel in hushed tones so as not to wake the child.
A few would be proud of Gabriel for speaking so calmly or sitting relaxed when they visited, but I could see all of them being curious enough to watch the child sleep. Maybe some would sympathize with the child as it was an innocent bystander to all of this; maybe others would secretly hate the child for taking away their mentor, but if they ever respected Gabriel, then they would respect Gabriel's choice to have this child.
do you think Gabriel would like having grandchildren? i think it’d be really funny if one day one of the Powers went to him and was like “Father, forgive for I have sinned… you have grandbabies now!” and holds up a little angel thing like a kitten. this is surely not related to my love of the Powers anyways.
Realistic, I feel like, if this was a serious thing— like this theoretical Power presenting a baby to Gabriel and just claiming him as the adoptive grandparent—
There would be a very firm lecture, maybe even a punishment, if the Council hears about it. Gabriel is loving and kind to everyone, but saying one has 'sinned' and then popping a baby into his hand is going to get him a bit upset.
Life so young is precious and to insinuate that it was a mistake...
Gabriel expects his students to be better— they are supposed to be better— but this one act shows they are not. It shows they have not learned under him and would squander their status, and leave him to be a mentor if the punishment is damnation.
Yet, he will not let this child grow up without guidance. He'll help raise it when time permits, softly, despite the conditions of its birth, because it is an innocent soul. He won't outwardly show favoritism when the child is ready for training, but it will be there in the small things.
Whether it be dusting the child off after sparring, firm instructions, and light praise; making sure they understand the pressure he puts on them to be perfect is so that this child can prove to the other angels that they can be enough, and so on and so forth.
But yes, I think Gabriel would enjoy being a grandfather even if it ends badly for the Power.

I really like the effort and detail you put into writing about him, and how everyday things remind you of a character you like - makes me feel less weird about how everyday things remind me of characters I like, too.

I had this funny idea when talking to one of my friends ( @krystlandotherstuff ) about Gabriel doing mitosis (don't ask) that relates to the holy light.
What if, like plants, angels grow and become more powerful the more holy light they receive from God? I think it could work, since Gabriel has been in heaven longer than God's disappearance and is incredibly strong compared to his other angel counterparts, who are younger and less experienced than he.
I think it's a good metaphor— like when Gabriel had the light taken away, he was destined to wilt without the light.

I think we all collectively understand the anime AU of Ultrakill. Gabriel is agreed by the fandom to be the Class President and/or the Student Council leader, V1 and V2 are usually machines that skip out on school, and so on and so forth.
We wouldn't have it without (2-S: All Imperfect Love Song), which introduces the character Mirage in a school-romance visual novel that draws on anime tropes. But I always wondered what the other machines, husk, demons, Prime Souls, and Angels would be like in this theoretical anime and I've come up with some ideas to share.
Starting from the first enemies we get, Lesser Husks (Aka: Filth and Strays). And to be honest? I feel like they would fit as the background characters both in civilian life and at school. They are the outline of people you see in these low-budget anime, yet I honestly love them for that, as Lesser Husk are considered the majority of the population on Earth... so they would be just random people in the anime too.
I didn't include Stalkers in this bunch because I think they would have a valuable role as workers alongside Sisyphean Insurrectionists, both of which are very strong at holding such large objects—I think they would be great as funny side characters who work as a team to set things up, bake sales, class competitions, pep rallies; etc.
But I think Stalkers would be a bit mischievous as well. They're like little gremlins.
Soldiers seem like good classmates to sprinkle into this prestigious school, (cause when is it not a prestigious school). Since they kick and have an arm cannon— I think they would go crazy like the athletic students in different sports clubs. Like, I would love to see a Soliders throwing a baseball or kicking a soccer ball with fucking impact frames, are you kidding?
I have more ideas for this theoretical anime, but I'll update this soon with a part two!
Do you think Gabriel gets sick like birds? I think he would, since birds naturally hide their sickness so as not to seem weak. I would expect Gabriel to fight through his sickness— going as far as to not get medication even if it's as simple as a stomachache.
I mean, every sickness to Gabriel would seem like a test from God, wouldn't it? Which to him might seem weak to get medicine, yet in the same breath would advise others to take breaks and rest.
Maybe they don't even get sick because the holy light 'supposedly' is stronger than anything, since it's God's blessing, but we know how much of a contradiction that is, given that V1 beats Gabriel.
So let's say he does, and when he is sick, his wings are a clear indicator of whether he is or not. Also, a loss of appetite or changes in voice—hell, even just standing still for too long can be a sign, but since these are such small signs, I believe it would be nearly impossible to know for sure.

Mei is the first content creator I followed specifically for the tinned fish and the quality of film she was doing. The way she films seems very much inspired by vibrant retro vibes, and I'm all for it.
But the difference is that Mei pairs her tinned fish with a multitude of foods to really highlight the flavors. Crackers, bread, rice, beans, pasta, you name it, I'm sure she's done it. She also sources her fish from across the world and goes into great detail of the packaging of the tin as well!
Lastly, there is one I just found recently: Kyrik or @Kyrik.co
Kyrik is also different from the previous content creators, as he gathers his friends to try out fish, rate them, and examine the flavors, and honestly? It just feels very homey and well-paced. The background music fits, and it's just overall a good page to look at!
