to my knowledge, nothing. nothing whatsoever. basically I have refused to update anything in an eternity and the most recent thing I can remember telling not to update was flash player, but i doubt that was it tbh although i'm pretty sure firefox auto-updated since last time i tried to run it
when i first went to load the games this time the error message didn't pop up and it was just like "do you wanna run shockwave?" and i was like "yes I wanna run shockwave" and then it just did the thing and loaded the files, even though every other time in the past it's like "do you wanna run shockwave" and i'm like "yes" and it's like "playback error"
like i literally have no idea what changed but now it's like "lol I'm just gonna load whenever like this was never a problem at all"
i have been able to load GCB on two separate occasions and HatPC four times with no issues (I already have the other shockwave game avatars so I didn't try those but I'm willing to bet they'd work too), i tried it on a whim and it's the first time i've tried since the server switch
i just have no idea why but i wasn't gonna look a gift horse in the mouth so i just did the thing and now a day later i have both avatars
also potentially relevant is that i could never get any of the games to work before in firefox, only in safari, even though firefox is my main browser that i use for neopets, and this time it loaded in firefox no problem
specs: mac osx version 10.9.4, mavericks OS, mid-2011 13-inch pro, running firefox 33.1 and shockwave... looks like 12.0.5? for mac
update: i checked, all the shockwave games work for me with no problems. I can load Hannah and the Pirate Caves, Hannah and the Ice Caves (for good measure), Attack of the Slorgs, Gourmet Club Bowls, and Dice Escape without any delays, reloads, or error messages. I'm in the twilight zone but I really hope that this information ends up being helpful for more people than just me (both because i want to help and because i would love the glory)
I think I'll send in a ticket to see if this information can be helpful to the programmers.
