Author’s note: another, slightly softer Nathan. This one’s from Nathan’s POV. This only exists because I woke up in the middle of some night and imagined a whole fic about not being able to sleep. Aaaand maybe that doesn’t warrant it being written but it exists now so, here you go! :D It’s just a quick one! It has a little bit of smut but it’s not really A Smut.

Warnings: language; reader receiving hand-job / finger-bang, depending on chosen anatomy (not specified by the fic no pronouns or gendered terms used); brief mentions of prior sexual intercourse / oral sex. Light (consensual) choking / mild breath play.

Nathan has been working so long he has double vision; for once not due to an extended vodka and Peroni binge, he notes to himself. So, when movement catches his eye on the monitor in his periphery, he half dismisses your presence as a questionable data point, rubbing his eyes and focussing again on the code in front of him.

His eyes are drawn back to you though, as you track towards the fridge in your skimpy vest and sleep shorts, until he’s no longer glancing at you out of the corner of his eye but has turned his chair to watch you intently. He watches you pour a glass of filtered water, add some ice, and then pad lazily towards the wall of windows, staring out into the expanse of night sky with a hand resting on your popped hip.

Your cute popped hip, Nathan notes to himself, trying to dismiss yet another data point in a long line of data points all leading toward a single conclusion. That he’s into you.

Fuck.

Still, a smile lightens his usually stern features and his fingers find the intercom button almost instantly.

“Can’t sleep?” he asks abruptly, and he watches you jump ten foot in the air as his voice cuts suddenly through the otherwise silent house, the glass in your hand being thrown to the floor and splintering shards all around you, ice skittering across the tiles.
