thinking about the plot of nbc hannibal from jack crawford’s pov is so wild because it’s like,, imagine you’re trying to solve this murder and you know a guy who’s a little weird but can do the job better than anyone so you hire him, and then it turns out he needs some mental help because he’s got an empathy disorder so you get him to see the eccentric psychiatrist everyone has vouched for and you’re like yeah, he’s polite and mild-mannered and wears silly suits it’ll be cool. and all the while your wife is dying of cancer and things are quickly spiralling out of control and before you know it the empath is seriously losing his mind and that psychiatrist from earlier is actually lowkey a cannibal and you think you’re gonna catch him but then the empath falls in love with him ?? deadass ?? and the empath ruins your whole operation because he wants to be swept off his feet and melt into the darkness or whatever the hell he’s been whispering about ?? and he chases the cannibal to florence in his stupid fishing boat and now they’re speaking in riddles and romanticising cannibalism and staring deeply into each other’s eyes while you’re trying to grieve your dead wife, until the cannibal turns himself in because they broke up ?? like for real this time, it’s over over 🙄 but it doesn’t matter because years later you’re still dealing with their bullshit because now they’re quoting romeo and juliet to each other from across the glass in the insane asylum and being bitchy and jealous like. I’d shoot myself

i’ve seen people complain about will becoming a killer throughout the series and how is doesn’t make sense bc he’s fbi and he has high empathy etc etc but i feel like these people completely miss how from the beginning will was shown to actually like it. like he was always a bit psycho killer from the start

he kills hobbs in the first episode by unloading a whole gun into him and he didn’t need to shoot that many times. and as bedelia said, will’s empathy actually helps him be a killer. it makes him capable of righteous violence. killing bad people makes him feel good. that was also set up immediately when he killed hobbs in episode one

he threatens freddie with “it’s not smart to piss off a guy who thinks about killing people for a living” ???? like okay that’s psycho behaviour even if she is annoying lmao

like yeah he tells abigail that killing is the ugliest thing in the world but like he’s lying??? first of all he wouldn’t really tell her that he enjoyed killing her dad, but also he tells hannibal, his therapist who he can obviously be open with, in the same episode(?) that he liked killing hobbs.

he also tells jack his plan of when hannibal goes to kill mason, he will arrest him. and what does will do???? allows hannibal to break mason’s neck, makes absolutely no move to arrest him. he even kinda smiles at it. and like at this point you can’t even argue that he’s maintaining his cover bc like the plan was to arrest him at that point and will just decided nah.

so this tells us that before when he killed randall and made the display out of his body, he probably enjoyed that too. and it wasn’t just a cover. this whole thing just allowed him to revel in his dark murderous side that he has had from the beginning but wouldn’t let himself fully go into the mindset of

and again he tells hannibal in digestivo “you delight, i tolerate” but he was also lying there??? he’s breaking up with hannibal and trying to distance himself from him bc of what hannibal brings out in him and he just wants to be a normal guy with a normal life. he just wants hannibal to leave him, so admitting that he does delight in it will not help get rid of hannibal. but we, the audience, know that will does actually delight in it. when he got chiyoh to kill her prisoner and then he makes a dragonfly display out of his corpse??? and hannibal wasn’t even there to see it and probably doesn’t even know that will did that??? like there was no reason for will to do that other than he delights in it

and then there’s the obvious delight he feels when killing dolarhyde with hannibal. the smile. the hug. the “it’s beautiful”. resting his head on hannibal’s chest.

anyway yeah will’s murder slut arc was set up from the start xoxox

Can we all just appreciate that when Aziraphale was playing Crowley, he played him far cooler and sexier than Crowley had portrayed himself the entire show. Crowley is a dork, but that isn’t how Aziraphale sees him. He genuinely believes Crowley is the suavest and coolest being he knows.

And Crowley plays Aziraphale as incredibly brave, yet extremely forgiving and kind to the end. Someone who shows no weakness even when faced with destruction.

Just the fact that they each see the other as the best version of themself is so incredibly sweet and perfect to me.
