hello !! I’m ghost and I made this account to yell into the void without feeling like I’m bothering anyone ✨ this blog will literally just be me being silly goofy and writing analysis and brainrot and stuff like that !! feel free to talk to me whenever, I’m just here for a good time

note: I’m mainly into nbc hannibal rn, but I don’t want to restrict myself to that either. this is just a place where I can have fun and interact with media I like :D

UPDATE (26/09/25): it’s been a few years since I made this post but I wanna reiterate that this is definitely a multifandom blog now! I still ADORE nbc hannibal and consider myself part of the fandom but expect variety when it comes to the mini essays and analyses I post every now and then. cool? cool 🫶

suki doesn’t appear in the new avatar movie because the writers were too afraid of the insane chemistry she’d have with zuko and sokka at the same time

regrettably watched wuthering heights (2026) the other day and tell me why that entire movie made it seem like emerald fennell’s never had sex before

#for a movie that’s trying so hard to be sexy and provocative it was really lacking #I can tell a pervert didn’t write this… emerald fennell is NOT weird #sometimes the most hot and heavy and disturbing material features no sex at all #I have a running theory that because she removed everything transgressive from the novel #she had to rely on the only ‘transgressive’ thing she could think of (bdsm I guess)#which feels ham-fisted and safe in the film anyway #she’s afraid of her source material I think #she’s only comfortable delving into the ‘doomed’ aspect of the story but is too chicken to actually touch on what’s doomed about it #she just wanted to make gone with the wind but likes gothic aesthetics and went with wuthering heights instead #but she doesn’t rlly get the gothic #cause she’s a posh upper class white woman who isn’t self-aware enough to examine herself or develop class consciousness #so what does she know about being transgressive? or feeling like a monster?#this is just like when you see centrists try to write revolution stories #it’s like what are you doing here? genres are more than just aesthetics and cool one-liners girl #one day someone will cast an indian actor to play heathcliff and they’ll actually focus on the second half of the novel too #and include the supernatural elements! less glorified romance and more ghosts!#wuthering heights #emerald fennell #ghost speaks

the idea of swapping the companions and doctors around really scratches my brain so right. like yeah what the hell what if nine had been with amy and rory? ten with bill? eleven with rose? twelve with donna? thirteen with clara? fifteen with martha and captain jack? the possibilities go on and on

steven moffat’s obsession with writing a time traveller’s wife-esque dynamic between the doctor and his companions got so out of hand that he proceeded to recycle it four separate times across the show. first with madame de pompadour in the girl in the fireplace, then with river song, then again with amy pond as the girl who waited, and then again with clara oswald as the impossible girl. this is probably the reason I have so much beef with him like girl enough is ENOUGH

#it’s so crazy to me how often he leaned on that dynamic #it’s almost impressive #that friend who’s too obsessed with one trope…#listen it’s cool the first time you do it #but NOT FOUR TIMES #moffat was like guys… what if the doctor encountered a woman who he either met when she was a child or was intertwined in his timeline #and they kept meeting at different points #never knowing where their relationship was leading them #and it’s already happened but also yet to happen and will be doomed no matter what #and everyone said yeah !!! and then he never stopped #this is why I struggle to adjust to matt smith’s seasons #because amy’s storyline is just the girl in the fireplace expanded #moffat was like now that I’m showrunner I can finally write this plot I want to write AHSHAJSHHS #bill was the companion that broke the cycle and moffat only wrote four of her episodes before leaving 😭#he said my work here is done! I think Ten wasn't meant to lose Rose. Not like by plot, but by design.

I think Ten was created by and for Rose. He exists because Nine sacrificed himself for her. He took her accent (yes that's canon), he took a form she'd find more attractive. He popped out of regeneration bursting with joy and energy and love because that's where he was born. He's a product of Nine's love for Rose, he's Rose's Doctor, designed specifically for her, to be with her, to make her happy and be happy with her.

So when he loses her, he loses his purpose. Yeah, he suffers many more times after that, but we all know that's what really killed him. The Tenth Doctor was dead the second he was permanently separated from Rose.

He gets a quick breath, a whisper of hope, when she comes back to him. But he loves her so dearly that he gives her what he's never given anyone, what he'll never have himself. He loved her so much that he let her go.

#THISSSS #this is why I find it kinda silly when people fight over ninerose vs tenrose because to me that’s the same ship #tenrose is just the natural progression of their relationship following nine’s sacrifice/character development #which results in a happier version of himself who has hope again #and has grown past the need to be a loner as a coping mechanism #ten is literally the manifestation of nine’s love for rose #it’s why they’re so silly and cheerful in series 2 #which is all fine and well and beautiful until he loses rose #and goes from a war veteran (nine) to a widow (ten)#and ten doesn’t know how to cope #something about rose and the doctor both struggling to accept loss and how that shared flaw colours both of their arcs #I have so many thoughts on this I could go on forever #doctor who #timepetals

the key to writing good romance is to make it as close to gossip as possible. the viewer needs to be rewarded for being nosy. discussing the romance with others needs to feel like you’re gossiping about real people except you’re doing so in a safe space and can feel normal about not being normal. you should say “oh my god I shouldn’t be seeing this” as you give the story your full attention. this is why heated rivalry has become such a huge success

#jane austen was incredible at this #and gothic romance often has this quality too #big secrets big gossip big clutching pearls big uncomfortable intimacy big sharing your deepest self with someone #gotta feel gossip worthy or it’ll be ass #but it can’t overdo the gossip aspect and forget about the characters #it’s a fine art that very few know how to accomplish #heated rivalry #romance genre #ghost speaks

disco elysium spoilers but I lowkey just did the tribunal for the first time and somehow didn’t die despite having extremely low motorics and no gun. and listen, maybe that wasn’t the best way to approach that scene and many many people died BUT! getting shot twice and still saving kim’s life was sorta beautiful and romantic especially since it only happened because I got him to really trust me so I think this was maybe the best outcome
