Lean your head forward, preferably to knee level, and let the water kind of drain out of your mouth. When your are able to, take deep slow breaths. No heimlich maneuver or physical assists from somebody else should be used beyond this, otherwise you could vomit and escalate the issue. Its about keeping the larynx open. Hopefully this helps.

Not Dead, Just Forgetful

So, I’m back on here for the first time in months. Came back to send someone a question and I had to respond to a very irritating question sent, surprise to no one, anonymously.

But, I wanted to let my followers who have stuck by me, that I’m not dead. I just have so many other social media accounts. Sometimes, one slips through the cracks. I’ll try to be more diligent keeping up with this one. So, feel free to send me questions. I can try and help with writing advice. Why do you write about witchcraft? You are a bad influence on the younger generation. No better than JK Rowling with her Harry Potter devil books. Anything about witches is evil. Your books will fail because of that. You are not a true Christian of you write that garbage.

Let's nitpick about something we've never read, have no idea the other plot elements, and jump to wild conclusions about the author's personal life because it isn't a genre you like.Reading (and writing) is an escape from the dull and ordinary. Nothing wrong with throwing a few fantastical elements into a story to liven things up.But, you know what? Fine. It's your loss. When my book is finally out, I know I'll have readers who enjoy my hard work and you can stay in your boring, ignorant bubble.

What r some major differences between a new relationship and a long term one?

I’m going to answer this from the perspective of healthy relationships specifically.

New relationship: every feeling is heightened. Whatever it is, it’s to the Nth degree. If you’re mad at this person, it’s the end of the world. You might not recover. If you’re falling in love, this person is god’s gift to the universe. They are the wind beneath your wings. You are floating on a cloud at all times. Your feels are constantly brimming at the surface.

Old relationship: you are comfortable, and not in a bad way. If you’re mad at your partner, you can talk it out. You know it’s not the end of the world, because you two have weathered the storm many times before. And sure, this person is god’s gift to the universe, but it’s more of a peaceful feeling now. You’re just so thankful for them. It’s not OMG I can’t believe he’s mine! It’s I’m so glad he’s mine. Their presence is a steady, wonderful calm.

New relationship: the sexy stuff is a lot more frequent. This person is the hottest creature you’ve ever met. You want to impress them. You want to be just as hot to them as they are to you.

Old relationship: the sexy stuff is a lot less frequent, but ten times better. You now know each other’s bodies perfectly. You know exactly what they want and how they want it. Multiple orgasms are a go. You are much less self conscious being naked with them, which makes things more enjoyable. A weird noise can happen, and you’ll both laugh about it, crack a few jokes, then continue. Years ago, that moment might’ve been mortifying for you.

New relationship: heart eyes all the time. They are your hero, your heroine, your lover. You want to show them off to your friends. 

Old relationship: smiles all the time. They are your best friend, the one person you can always depend on. You want to show them off to your friends.

There’s more but you get the gist.

This is important. I see so many stories where the characters are in the relationship for 2-3 years or more and are still all over each other in a sexual way. Just no. Not that extreme.

Eh… 2-3 years isn’t that long of a relationship? I see no issue with them being handsy. If you’re not attracted to your partner anymore, that’s a BIG red flag.

If you could pick any character in WOC to switch places with, who would it be? I'd pick Lilia. Just so I can have Darien.

You do realize they’re the villains, right? *shrug* I’d probably pick the same but to explore their backstory before WoC starts. But, really, I’d want to be Gran. Also before the book starts. She just fascinates me and each book we get a snippet of her life. One of these days I’ll do a book that focuses on her.

I have a story in my head. I see it so clearly in my dreams but when I sit down to write it my mind goes blank and my fingers don't work. How do you get past that?

Write anyway. Start with a freewrite. Just a stream of thought until something coherent starts to form. Then, maybe do an outline or a rough plan of some kind and build on from there with character profiles, world information, etc.

What are some of the best and worst things about being a writer?

It’s kinda late so I’ll only mention one of each. Maybe I’ll do a video with more.

Best thing- I get to do what I love. I have been passionate about stories since I was little and playing with Barbies. It took me a while to realize being an author was my true calling but now I’m working harder than ever to make it work.

Worst- I have to work really hard on time management because I have yet to make a living off my writing. Still working a day job takes up time I’d love to spend writing but can’t because I need to feed myself, pay bills, and plan a wedding.
