That's why he looks so off! Plus the fact that his hair was never that color length or texture. It really goes to show that even though he's trying to use halbrand to manipulate her because he knows she cares for him, he can't get it right. That's how far he's gone. And then think about how cruel it is for Galadriel. Just another reminder that she's never getting that man back.

Life is chaotic and random, like an ever changing ocean in which we are lucky — or not — to find one another. The imperfections of events lead to unusual paths. Good comes and goes, leaves place to bad, and later that very bad may lead to a better road. Galadriel meets Halbrand at an improbable situation, they walk together a path of imperfections and chaotic scenarios ( All the problems in Númenor and the battles in the southlands with Adar), their bond it's forged in those loose ends. Even under Sauron's manipulations, he wasn't able to control all the world surrounding them to his ideal, so yes I belive there is some truth in their relationship — tho severely tainted by Sauron's twisted way of emotions towards others. Galadriel formed a bond with Halbrand, the product of that ever changing ocean, and this illusion he crafted, so perfectly crafted its wrong because of its perfection. It is his obsession with order, and that breaks the illusion. Can't analyze correctly for Galadriel, and her way of resisting it, but to me as a viewer, that was the feeling that led me off.

oh. my. god.

1.02 - "they say that morgoth found the silmarils so beautiful that after he had stolen them for weeks he could do nothing but stare into their depths."

1.08 - "i alone can see your light" and "you bind me to the light"

2.01 - sauron staring in awe at galadriel as if he had a revelation when he first saw her at the sea.

2.05 - "when the light caught your hair, for a moment you seemed her perfect likeness."

2.06 - sauron deceiving celebrimbor "the silmarils, they will merit little more than a whisper, but the rings of power will be deemed the most precious creations in all middle-earth. best feanor." BUT then when he is alone in his illusion, we hear a man tell a woman who looks like galadriel "i've written a poem but i fear your beauty still overshadows anything i could possibly write."

like morgoth coveted silmarils created by feanor inspired by the way the light reflected galadriel's hair, sauron will covet galadriel's light till the end of his days, attempting to recreate it but failing as nothing will ever come close to her, to that feeling he felt and wanted to bind to his very being. so sauron gropes ever to see galadriel for as long as he exists!
