“It’s honestly a gem, I bought it as soon as it came out because I just had a feeling, you know? I don’t wanna spoil anyone so I’ve been holding back on playing it,” he said, rather excitedly. “But I haven’t actually seen the movie either, we should go and do that so I actually have someone to freak out over the music with, people don’t tend to pay that much attention to soundtracks,” he went on, stopping on his tracks as he realized he’d kind of asked her to the movies without really thinking about it. “If you want, that is – I promise I won’t eat all your popcorn,” he added, hoping it hadn’t sounded as awkward as he suddenly felt.

“That’s nice of you,” she said, the smile on her lips brightening as he suggested they go see the movie together. Truthfully, if he hadn’t suggested it, she would have. “I’d love to,” she said, a small laugh escaping her. She found his nerves endearing. She didn’t bring attention to it, though, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. “We could go this weekend? There’s this really cool luxury theater I heard about. Apparently, they serve you food and wine at your seat during the movie.”

“I? Am one of those people,” he said, shifting in his seat. “Who is Billie Eilish?” he asked, the name terribly mispronounced. “I did that once in high school and I got alcohol poisoning so bad, I needed my stomach pumped. It was a good time.”

“I am too,” she agreed, sighing and wishing she had another beer. She didn’t quite feel like getting up to find another one, but she could be persuaded if it was harder liquor. “I swear, one day I’m just going to hijack your schedule and clear it out for a week so I can show you a whole new world of musical artistry,” she said, leaning forward slightly. “I’ve been there. It was a wild ride. One minute I was dancing on a table Kat Stratford style and the next I was waking up in the ER.”

Staring down at the way she grasped onto his hand, Teddy completely missed her look of annoyance that was thrown in his direction, instead zoning in on the skin on skin contact. The similar churning in his stomach that always occurred when he was even the slightest bit close to Nerissa appeared again, and it was starting to get a bit embarrassing at this point. “We have a Bible Club? That’s pathetic,” was all he finally settled on, licking at his bottom lip quickly once he was brought back to reality at the sudden lack of touch. Glancing back up at the other, he gave her a small smile, unable to even try and pull forward the usual charisma he gave people. He’d even be able to muster it up now if he was sober, but he was too drunk and drained to even attempt it at the moment, merely nodding his head. “Shirley Temple? Spicy. Um… okay, yeah, sure. Love that foxy redhead. Obviously the person - drink’s good too,” he mumbled, hesitating before settling into the chair beside the other, leaning forward to catch a glimpse at the person sitting beside her. It was apparent that the man wasn’t there with Nerissa, deep in conversation with someone else, “You here alone, then? That’s new.”

She gives a shrug at his comment about the Bible Club, not particularly caring to defend it either way. Besides, that wasn’t generally a topic of conversation she cared to have with anyone, let alone Teddy. There was more they could talk about, but it always boiled down to the past, and once that happened, all bets were off. She’d always been easily lost in the nostalgia of being with him. When he sat beside her, she sat up straighter, looking towards the bartender once he agreed to drink the Shirley Temple. When he came over, she gave their order, getting herself a rum and coke. Turning back to him, her brow raised at his next words. “I could say the same for you, couldn’t I?” She snapped back, feeling the heat of anger crawl up her neck which she hoped wasn’t red. Her cheeks were warm, though, and she turned her head in hopes to keep Teddy from seeing the color blooming along her skin. When her drink was placed before her, she took it and downed half of it at once in hopes of relaxing much faster. With a sigh, she turned back to Teddy. “Anyway, would it be a problem if I wasn’t here alone? It’s not like I’m tied down to anyone, am I?”

“There’s always a chance.” Ryo chortled, raising a shot glass of his own to his lips and slamming it back. His face scrunched up at the familiar burn as he lowered the glass back to the counter and scoured it for the nearest open bottle of liquor. “And if not you need to drown your sorrows.” He added, his eyes lighting up as he leaned forwards and pulled a bottle of mysterious amber liquid towards them, refilling the shot glasses.

“Help a man cheat on his wife? Scandalous,” she says, pressing her hand to her chest as though she had just heard the secret of a lifetime. At his suggestion, she gave a laugh, nodding her head in agreement. “I like the way you think,” she says, pushing her shot glass towards him eagerly. “Do you think we’ll get alcohol poisoning if we go shot for shot until we finish that bottle? Not saying it’s what I want but, it won’t deter me.”

munro parted her lips, thinking about whether she was interested or not, but before she could decide, nerissa had already continued on. as the brunette listening, she sipped on her drink. “i have absolutely, no idea who that is,” she admitted, shaking her head. “is he a movie star? i don’t really watch much of anything.”

“What? No, I don’t care about movie stars, he’s a singer” she says, waving her hand dismissively. She wasn’t shocked that she didn’t know who he was, but she tended to forget that not everyone would know who she was talking about. “Just know he has beautiful eyes, a great voice, and a jaw that could probably cut glass. Truly my favorite kind of man,” she sighs, motioning for the bartender. “I’m getting more shots, do you want something?”

     “ i… ”  julien had to physically restrain himself from continuing with his statement of indifference, knowing full-well that it would do nothing to stop his current company anyway.  “ … a tragedy. ”  he deadpanned, reaching to grab his own drink because he certainly needed it right now.  “ not that i have any idea who that is. ”

“Of course you don’t, Grumpy,” she hums, watching as he grabbed his drink. “What do you listen to?” While she knew he had no interest in the conversation, she was truly interested in getting to know the other, and he hadn’t told her to fuck off yet, so she took it as a good sign. “I bet you listen to the classics. You look the type. Oh! Maybe some Britney Spears right? NSYNC? Backstreet Boys? No, you look like a New Kids on the Block kind of guy.” She suddenly gasped as though she’d discovered the answer to the meaning of life. “The Jonas Brothers!”

“I don’t know who either of those people are but I truly hope they’re both happy,” he said, nodding solemnly. Laughing softly at her next words, he continued to tap his fingers against his tongue, as if that would somehow bring it back to its original state. “God, Rissa… I’ve truly lost my mind. I’ve lost it.”

“You beautiful soul, consider yourself lucky. There are people that would pay good money to go back to a simpler time where the Kardashians didn’t rule the world of social media,” she rambles, remembering his dilemma only when she realized he was still tapping his fingers to his tongue. “Billie Eilish vibes. Want to go on a scavenger hunt for it? I’m sure we can find it at the bottom of a bottle of tequila. The only way to get it back is to eat the worm.”

Letting out an uncharacteristic girlish giggle, Sadie became completely enveloped in the interaction, partly to ward of the advances of the man in question and partly because it was Nerissa. The girl’s face close to her own made her breath hitch, but she smiled and tried to shake off the feeling. “Janet! They finally let you out of the hospital, huh? How’s your foot?” She rambled, grin on her face making it clear she was just messing with the other girl. “Dance? Shit, that’ll really turn him on. But alright, yeah. We gotta test out that brand spankin’ new foot of yours,” she said, trailing after the girl, music filling her ears and they travelled to the center of the dance floor.

“It healed up nice and I’m ready to put these painkillers to the test,” she grins, fingers lacing with Sadie’s as she pulled them to the center of the dance floor. On her way, she snatched a cup from a random passerby, taking a drink from it and nearly gagging on the disgusting mix of liquor. “Really?” She looked back in disgust to no one in particular, shaking her head and forcing herself to take another gulp. It was gross, yes, but it would get her drunk the fastest. “Good!” She slides her hands onto Sadie’s hips when she turns to her. “He should have blue balls as punishment for being a horny freak.”

Resting his chin on his hand, a little too drunk to sit up any straighter than that, Levi raised an eyebrow at his friend. “Oh, please,” he said, rolling his eyes. “Monogamy is wildly overrated, no one does that these days, I bet they have an open relationship like any smart person would,” he nodded, gaze drifting as he tried to make eye contact with the bartender to get another round of shots. “And you’re a full meal, you have every chance in this world to be his groupie, don’t lose hope so quickly.”

“I don’t know, sometimes relationships are nice,” she hums, thinking back to her many significant others throughout her young life. Nerissa had always been someone that just loved people. Their smiles, their eyes, their laugh, and personalities, she just adored them. She was never one to hide behind walls when she was with someone, tending to give too much of herself to people that didn’t know how to handle it. Many times she would end up with a broken heart, but it hadn’t made her cold, and she hoped it never would. Focusing back onto Levi, she gave him a smile, a short laugh escaping her. “Let’s hope so, cause when he goes on tour I plan on being at peak thotness,” she jokes, clapping happily when another shot was placed in front of her. Picking it up, she held it out towards Levi in a toast. “To being full meals and getting whoever the hell we want,” she laughs, throwing back the shot, numbed from the burn of it already.

“Ah, it’s you,” Lucas said, smiling easily at her. Squeezing his fingers into his pocket, he lowered the volume, assuming not everyone would be so keen on listening to his music against their will. “Honestly? I’ve been listening to that album Kendrick Lamar put together for Black Panther, and I can’t remember having ever listened to anything but this ever before in my life, it’s that good,” he nodded, “that song with SZA? The ultimate jam.” Turning to the counter to order his drink, he leaned against it, looking back at her. “What’s got you here so late? Getting ready for a night shift?”

Nerissa brought her hands up, giving him the iconic spirit fingers as he realized that it was her. “I’ve heard that album was amazing,” she nods, resisting a frown when he turned down the music. She understood that he likely didn’t want to distract anyone too much, though, in an area like the cafeteria, she wouldn’t have given that a second thought. She made a mental note to do that herself. “I’ve been holding off on it until I actually watch the movie, but I might just break my rule because I don’t think I can wait another week,” she admits, sliding her hands into her hoodie pockets in search of her phone so she could buy the album before she got distracted. “Nah, I’m off tonight,” she says with a slight smile. “Whole night to myself so I’m gonna treat myself to some greasy cafeteria food,” she laughs. “What about you?”

Pursing his lips slightly at Nerissa’s obvious distaste towards him, Teddy fully considered just dropping it and leaving her alone. It seemed to be what she wanted from him, but he was never one to take a hint, giving the bartender a small smile once he got his shot, “Switch to water? What do I look like, Mother Theresa? Bet she liked to get fucked up every now and then,” he joked, or at least attempted to, heart not truly in it which was probably obvious from the tone he took. “What’s up with you, huh? Not excited to see me? I’m kinda hurt,” Teddy teased, reaching over and poking at Nerissa’s side to grab her attention. Keeping his hands off her, especially when he was this intoxicated, always proved to be difficult, and tonight was no exception. “Actually - I’ll let you know that I’ve never woken up in a dumpster. Bathtub, yes. Dumpster? That’s a whole new level.”

“That has to be blasphemous,” she says, looking around dramatically. “Someone from Bible Club is going to come out of nowhere and knock you out with the word of God.” Her attempt to play along fell as flat as his original joke, but she chose to ignore it the best she could. Taking his hand when he poked her, she gave him a semi-faux look of annoyance. To say his touch made her uncomfortable would be a lie, but she couldn’t say it was too pleasing. It’d begin with playfulness and as the drinks kept coming it would devolve into their usual cycle, something she always miserably failed to prevent, though it didn’t stop her from trying. “Oh, I’m ecstatic, can’t you tell? If I was any happier I’d be flipping around in the air like a flyer,” she says, a deadpan look on her face, her hand letting go of his. “That’s the level you’ll reach tonight if you keep drinking. How about I get you a Shirley Temple? A sober drink, but still saucy and exciting.”

          “not really but i’m sure you’re going to tell me anyway,” georgina blinked over at the other girl, still nursing the beer she’d picked up when she’d walked in the door. she always waited until everyone else around her was wasted before she allowed herself to get tipsy. in doing this, she was certain to never make a fool of herself. well, it had worked for her thus far anyway. “i mean, i’m sure you could still be a groupie – just with the removed chance of sleeping with him.”

“What’s the fun in that? Well, I shouldn’t say that. There’s a lot more than just sleeping with the band to being a groupie, it’s just a fun perk,” she says, sighing heavily and resting her chin on the palm of her hand. “But honestly, how could I be expected to not want to bang the guy? That voice, it kills me every time,” she says dreamily, staring off over Georgina’s shoulder, looking at no one in particular, simply imagining her desired life. “Anyway,” she said suddenly, shaking herself out of her daydream, focusing once again on the girl before her. “Anything new? Boys? Girls? Other?”

ellis only watched her from the corner of his eye when shuffling around the three shot glasses in front of him and pushed them away when tapping to get a beer. “wow, your life must be completely ruined now, nessa right?” the male joked, smiling when tilting head to view her better.

“You laugh but I’m truly heartbroken right now,” she slurred, hand pressed to her chest to make her point. She took a swig of her beer, wrinkling her nose at the taste. “God, I hate beer,” she muttered, even as she took another long drink from the bottle. She hadn’t drunk enough that her tongue was numbed from the rancid taste, but it was enough that she wasn’t disgusted enough to not drink it. “Anyway, what’s up in Fratland? How’s the hazing?”
