Nessa was sitting on the hotel bed calling her dad on facetime. They hadn't talked in a long time, and while on the tour she wasn't talking to Duan like she used to.

Quincy was dealing with paperwork when she called. "Wassup baby girl?" He smiled, he missed her and his grandson. He chose to put some distance between them until the war blew over.

"Nothing much, out here in Philly for the tour. I took lil man to an amusement park earlier."

"I know he loved that. How's the tour going?" He sat back and paid attention to her.

"The fans are going crazy, and every night it's like a movie. All my dreams are coming true." She forced a smile.

"Then why so down?" He began to worry.

"It's nothing, I just worry about you. I know you're a grown man and will do what he feels he needs, I just worry."

Quincy noticed her eyes glisten a little, and chose to change the topic instead of her crying during this call. He knew that he was breaking her heart doing the same thing that got him locked up, but its what he knew, what he was good at. "How's my son in law, the wedding day should be approaching in a few months now?"

"Yea, yea we're good. The first time I've been on tour and he's doing basketball, so the distance is one thing that we're adjusting to, but don't worry about us. Just be safe please." She smiled, wiping her face.

"Always, where's my grandson." He smiled coupled with a hearty laugh.

Q: Do you think the controversy leading up to the awards helped you tonight?

Nessa: Of course not, I think the fans know who is on top and now she knows. (smiles)

Nessa: Life, plus people have to understand that fashion and music are both equally important to me, plus I have a son that comes before all, so I be busy. [smiles]

Ebro: Nonetheless, I'm glad you're here kicking off you're tour. Why just America?

Nessa: We collectively as a whole knew that me personally I don't do a lot of performances, and not because I don't want to, again, I have the fashion world to handle. So, the twenty stops in America will be big. It will be a good time, and a show to remember.

Ebro: Ama's, I'm a little disappointed as so are some of your fans, with only three nominations. RBP debuted at number two, and you had two chart topping singles, talk to me, what happened?

Nessa: Listen, I'm thankful for my three and will continue to keep doing what I do for my fans.

Ebro: Is Briar Rose the new big thing in female rap?

Nessa: [chuckles] Chile.

Happiness Comes With A Price

Nessa couldn't stop looking at it. The ring was beautiful, and more than she could have ever imagined. Duan knew his lady and it showed. As she stood on the back porch she looked out into the yard. Her son was safe, she was getting married, her clothes were doing amazing, and her debut album hit number one but she still had this gut feeling of worry. Her father was back to his old ways and the news told it all. Everyday she was scared that she would get that unwanted phone call. Then on top of it all Duan knew something about it all.

"We should talk. You wanna start." Nessa knew the men she had in her life, but the both made promises to her.

Nessa looked him in the eyes and could tell he was telling the truth. "I think he's over his head. I offered to help him start up whatever he wanted, but a man like that needs to get it on his own. Promise me you'll make sure nothing happens to him." She needed to know that he atleast had somebody out there looking out for him, because she knew that they weren't going to lock him up this time.

“My oath and loyalty will be with Mike, you know that baby.” Duan rested his head upon hers. “I can’t. I can’t look out for someone who is putting my brothers life in jeopardy. That’s like asking me to turn my back on him.” He looked at her. “I’ll just keep my eyes on him. Make sure he’s not putting a danger to us, them....and him. As far as protecting him, if him and Mike ever come to that point...”

Duan left the rest of the sentence for her to figure out.

Nessa understood that Dro's loyalty laid with Mike before her dad. It was just a hard truth that she had to deal with, and the way things looked it seemed like the two houses would be clashing. She didn't know what that meant for her, or her family because they were now engaged, but that was her father. She walked into the house and went to bed. Nessa needed her mind to shut off for the night.
