Do you guys not understand what “chosen family” means??? Feyre never had a family with the people she was born with so she made one with new people who were there for her when she was dealing with her shit. Nesta did the exact same thing and you guys now you guys are mad. Family doesn’t mean the people who share your blood, it means having people who care for you and are willing to be there for each other through the worst moments of life. EVERYONE deserves that! Feyre got it with the inner circle because she didn’t have that with her sisters. Nesta got with the valkyries because SHE didn’t have it with her sisters.
I totally agree that there should’ve been a better conversation between Nesta and Feyre, but that doesn’t mean Gwyn and Emerie should be weaponized against her. Mor was more of a sister to Feyre than her blood sisters were, just like Gwyn and Emerie were to Nesta. And that’s okay! In the end, Nesta and Feyre managed to mend their relationship— Nesta did single handed my save Feyre’s family after all. But it wasn’t Feyre or Elain who got Nesta to where she is now. It was the valkyries, and you guys need to accept it.
One more thing: why would Nesta choose to “heal” with the people who slut shamed her, made fun of her alcoholism, took away the only place she felt safe and called told her that she was a waste of a life when she was already having suicidal thoughts at the time? Feyre and Elain were absolutely not the people Nesta needed to be surrounded by at that point in her life. She needed people who understood her pain and trauma and didn’t use it against her, but taught her how to embrace it. She needed people who she felt comfortable enough to laugh with, to cry with, to share her feelings with! And that is what she got. She would’ve never gotten that with her sisters because they were in different places in their lives and could not have helped her in the ways that Emerie and Gwyn did.
Side note: if you’re going to continue to reuse the same “she let her family starve blah blah” argument even AFTER reading acosf, you’re probably either a middle aged women with the comprehension skills of a 10 year old. OR you’re a 10 year old who should not be allowed to read this book. Keep grasping at straws, though!😋
