There is Something about Mor that really did not click with me until acosf.
I probably should have guessed this when she was referred to as a "dreamer in a court of nightmares" but Mor is absolutely a "I'm not like other girls" type.
Like we always see her go one about the abuse in the court of nightmares to woman but we NEVER see her actually attempt to make policy changes to help the other girls who didn't get out.
It was Mors attitude with Nesta, a girl who was raised and indoctrinated in a similar environment, that I realized Mor doesn't really see herself as one of many girls victim to the courts sexism. She sees herself as special and different. Even though she was born there, even though she IS one of them, she "doesn't belong". She chooses to disassociate entirely with the other woman in the court of nightmares instead of seeing it as she is just the one who got away. Which is why it's so easy for her to antagonize Nesta instead of having empathy.
And the narrative fully supports this idea.
This really put into words how I've always felt about Mor. And honestly I feel like this about the intire inner circle, they just go on with their lives knowing exactly what people, especialy women, go through in Illyria and the hewn city and choose to do NOTHING about it. They all talk a lot about how they want to make the night court a better place for everyone, but that only seems to aply to Velaris.
I mean, isn't Rhysand suposed to be the most powerful high lord ever? Yet he always chooses to turn a blind eye on all the awfull things that happen in the hewn city and Illyria just because he's too afraid of loosing his armys, because they are worth more to him than all of these women. His people have no respect for his laws and just do whatever they want to do because they also have no respect for him, and he knows that, he knows that illyrian women's wings are still being clipped and does nothing about it.
They're always saying that change doesn't come easily but we all know that's bullshit, rhysand and feyre are more than powerful enough to change things quickly and simply choose not to

I always got sus vibes from Mor. Straight out the gate, particularly with the Cassian/Azriel situation I was like, wait how am I supposed to be sympathetic? Why is she pitting these two (who consider each other to be BROTHERS) against one another by using the one as a buffer? But meanwhile she’s like ‘well I’m not actually into either of them.’ Then when Nesta comes into the picture she starts to shit all over her despite Cassian’s CLEAR devotion. Like... fuckin’ WHAT? Explain to me how I’m meant to be sympathetic. TBH that kind of behaviour screams that she 100% belongs in the Court of Nightmares! It’s complete ‘Mean Girl’ behaviour, meanwhile she is prancing around with the ‘I’m not like other girls’ bit. I’m so over seeing any of the ‘I’m not like other girls’ trope in media, especially in books targetted towards young adults/teens. Can we please move on from this mentality? Maybe I’m just getting to be too old for this shit LOL
This moment I knew Elain wasn't oblivious and just did not give any fucks
“You’re angry with me.” Fine, then. She could be direct, too. Nesta shot back, “For packing my things while Rhysand and Feyre told me I’m a worthless pile of shit? Yes.” Elain crossed her arms and said calmly, sadly, “Feyre warned me this might happen.”
Elain completely invalidates Nesta in this moment just to then go on a tangent on how much she "loves" her. Nesta says straight up how she treated at that intervention and Elain completely just dismissed her.
Then this little serpent starts crying her eyes out acting like a freaking victim when Nesta doesn't take the bate.
I wanted to bitch slap this girl so hard.
Tell me this %100 doesn't remind you of Nesta
"I can't cry, I can't depend on anyone else. I have to be good. That way my father won't hate me so much but I hated my father. I'm so tired of it all. I want to disgrace myself. To get so dirty that no body can stand it."
I simply do not consider ACOSF and any book after it canon. It literally goes against the previous books canon.
Right? It felt so unedited and the inconsistencies just go unexplained. We are just supposed to accept the new Canon. Like the archeron parents relationship went from being in love to resentment.

Things I wanna see less in fantasy~
Female protagonists having the best character arcs and personal growth only to lose their powers for the "greater good". Like? Let them be happy WITH POWERS?? ALINA'S LIGHT??? AELIN'S FIRE???? NESTA'S DEATH MAGIC??? TESSA'S SHAPE-SHIFTING??
Another minor plot hole I've been trying to wrap my brain around
In Acowar Cassian says
I put this to show when Nesta was living in the house of wind Cassian wasn't. He didn't even stay there to be close, just visited.
And then in acofas this scene
In the last few books we are lead to believe Cassian doesn't even live in velaris. Especially not the house. I can believe he moved into the house just to help Nesta but that is never mentioned or even implied. His home in Illyria is never mentioned or implied.
So wtf, happened to Cassian's home? In acosf he just lives in the house of wind with no clues saying he was doing otherwise before.
Sjm provided absolutely no explanation.
I genuinely thought Cassian's loyalty to illyrians would be a big plot point using the house thing but no. SJM just forgot about it.
Lends some credence to my theory that SJM wrote a bunch of Nessian fic while writing her other books, then negotiated a book deal out of it and smushed some plot in around the remaining sex scenes she was allowed to keep. She softened the exile-masquerading-as-intervention scene between ACOFAS and ACOSF (there are 2 different versions of the first chapter of ACOSF) once she went through her own mental health crisis and had more empathy for Nesta. Previously, she thought Nesta as interesting for sure, especially as an unlikeable character for the IC to basically shit on, to raise Feyre further up on her pedestal. Once SJM had more insight into Nesta’s plight, she had to ditch some of the other harshness she planned to dish out on her (which would have manifested as the Illyrian steppes, and certainly the Illyrians themselves) as well to keep some of the plot points and tighten up the story--so, to be kinder to Nesta, make an easier job of telling the story, and to include Gwyn, we lost insight into Cassian’s world and his house.
Additionally, she gave Nesta more of an actual story at this point, and it became slightly (only slightly) less of a story about Nesta being put into service for the IC/Night Court via helping Cassian reduce Illyrian squabbling, and more about Nesta finding herself and her own healing at the House and through finding her own fam and forming the new Valkyries. But since Feyre is so clearly SJM’s self-insert, she had to have a heavy Feysand focus, still had to have Nesta perform her existence in deference to and in service of Feysand and the IC in some way. Having Nesta lose most of her power partially in preparing and altering her body for eventual motherhood aids in bringing Nesta to heel by leaving Feyre as the most powerful fae female in the Night Court.
In the end, she is only forgiven because she begs for it and saves Feyre, Rhysand, and Nyx’s lives. No one seems to give too many shits otherwise. Elain is kind of all over the place on welcoming her back (felt a little too easy, no?) and I get the feeling most of Cassian’s “love” for Nesta is physical lust manifested by the mating bond.
Well, that went off on a bit of a tangent at the end, didn’t it?
I definitely agree about Cassian. We never actually see him fall in love with Nesta. Just his lust and the mating bond added by his own romantic ideals. He wanted to have a mate, it didn't matter that it was nesta.
When that exact issue is brought up it is just brushed aside and never talked about again. I was really looking forward to seeing that conversation.
The Inner Circle: Nesta we’ve heard a lot about you and we think you are a terrible person
Nesta: that’s okay, I don’t like you either

I wanted to follow you but there is a ship war going on and I don't know which one you favor..... hypothetically speaking, who do you think will be the next end game?
Honestly, if this is about the whole Lucien/Elaine/azriel/Gwyn thing I do not care enough to say.
I like Lucien and Azriel, hate Elain but I also believe the hate Elain gets from the shippers isn't justified because there reasoning tends to be misogynistic. I mostly hate her cause how she treats Nesta but believe her treatment of Lucien is TOO kind considering their circumstances. He's a good guy, but I wouldn't want him if I were in her shoes either.
I love Gwyn, amazing character but I low-key don't want to ship her cause all the other genuinely great things about her is overshadowed by who the fandom thinks she will fuck. Also, her thing with Azriel was so subtle I didn't get that attached to it.
In the end I ship no one and low-key hope both these ladies end up as WlW. Gwyn and emerie would be so much bather than Mor and emerie. Mostly cause I despise Mor.

Nesta had to give up her powers because R/hysand didn’t think to tell F/eyre about possible risks of fae childbirth before trying conceive or after when those risks were confirmed. Gotta love a woman sacrificing her power to help a dude who isn’t going to face any consequences at all.
