In the 1950′s adding vitamins and minerals to products was pretty new. Carnation helped people using powdered milk and fortifying it.

1944 Purina advertisement. William Danforth founded Purina Mills way back in 1894. He originally made feed for cattle and horses. Being an innovator, he also developed the first dog biscuits. Purina joined the Nestlé family in 2001.

In 1953 Carnation was helping families find new ways to make great mac and cheese with double-rich milk ‘from contented cows’. Evaporated milk was one of the first products ever made by Nestlé’s founders as far back as 1866. So it’s fitting that Carnation became part of the Nestlé family in 1985.
