International Association of Empirical Aesthetics

ORGANIZATIONIAEA is a non-profit organization promoting the scientific study of all aspects of aesthetics. The goal of the organization is to give scientific research on aesthetics an international forum for discussion and exchange. Organization members employ a wide range of empirical methods from psychology and other social sciences, as well as computational, biological, and neuroscience techniques; these target research questions in traditional aesthetic domains (visual art, music, performing arts), as well as newly emerging domains (video, computer animation), and broader, domain-general or everyday questions on the nature of beauty and aesthetic experiences. As an international association, different cultural forms of aesthetics are represented in the organization. The team of president, secretary-general and treasurer are accompanied by a staff of board members taking on responsibility for different scientific or geographic regions in the world.
