being female and attracted to women doesn’t make you a lesbian, it’s being a girl attracted to only girls. by your logic, a trans man who hasn’t gone through medical treatments but is only attracted to women, is a lesbian. also no one says “girldick”

i think it’s just me but it feels weird to group gay men(specifically feminine gay men) and girls together. “girls and gays” “queens and queers”, it feels almost as if it’s reducing us to who they assume we are attracted to.

and it gets even worse when people say that and then proceed to tell us something about how to attract men or what they like, because they assume that every girl is hetero. or when they tell us about some shop that’s having a sale that sells feminine clothing, or something about pop culture. they group us all together because they assume that the “girls and gays” are all feminine and into men. a man being queer doesn’t make him similar to women. because with such large groups like that(50%< of the population) there’s no way to pinpoint any way that we are similar, other than facing some type of harm from cishet men. not all women are into men and/or is feminine, and not all queer men are into guys and/or is feminine.

i may be overreacting about this but i’m standing by this. Stop grouping women and queer men together

ex: you can reblog someone’s anti racist post without agreeing with their homophobic posts.

“non men attracted to non men” is exclusive to women who only like women because lesbian is not an umbrella term. that definition means that you’re attracted to everyone but men but what actual lesbians only like girls.

can you guys stop changing the definitions of identities and labels? how do you expect lgbtq people to become accepted and understood by our society if you constantly confuse the shit out of people.

Not every label needs to change to be inclusive. Just leave things the way they are, you’re contributing to make things harder for those who actually want to turn lgbtq+ into something accepted.

it’s not just a club for “different people”, it’s a club for marginalized people who aim to be treated with human decency and who wants rights. And if we keep changing definitions, that’s going to make this a lot harder.

a common phrase i see from “non binary lesbians” about why they identify with that is that they feel that they shouldn’t have to explain that they are non binary but are attracted to everyone but men. which is a fair concern and it empathize with those who have to constantly do it.

but i see hypocrisy in this.

“non binary lesbians” want to change the definition of lesbian from girlxgirl to nonmenxnonmen. this means that actual lesbians will have to explain that they are women x woman and not the other.

so, you want to change the definition so you won’t have to explain your attraction but think that it’s okay to make us now have to explain? that doesn’t seem right and it’s very hypocritical.

(and before you say anything, yes, i’ve already had to explain to multiple that i am in fact not a nonmanxnonman but in fact a girlxgirl, so don’t say “they’ll assume you’re girlxgirl” because people are already starting to not)

and besides, there are still plenty of people who you still need to explain it to anyways. all you are doing is making people constantly explain themselves in the name of not having to explain yourselves. you’re just wasting everyone’s time and energy. just use a different term or make your own if you feel you need one(there is nothing wrong or bad about doing it as long as there isn’t already a term for it), and you never have to explain your gender and sexuality to people when you don’t feel like it.

and yes, labeling yourself as something when you aren’t does in fact do harm so stop doing it.

if we want people to be educated on lgbtq terms and identities, we can’t keep changing them. if i was learning math and mathematicians kept changing the definition of addition i’d quit and call math stupid. that’s what you guys are doing to this community. i know people are going to say that people are going to hate us regardless(and they do), but still, you guys are making us look bad.
