Sorry if you’ve already answered this question, but in your AU where did the Yugioh protagonists go?
Did they never exist or were they eraced? Can they ever be restored? Dose anyone remember them? And is anyone aware of what is happening?
Again sorry I’ve you’ve already answered this question, I find this au really interesting and want to know more about it the designs are so well done and the new dynamics between the characters is probably my favourite part of this au.

im glad youre enjoying this silly au of mine! i mentioned what happened to them here and there but to get a little bit more specific:
so the thing about this universe is that its like. kinda a parallel universe but also not really. its the exact same universe as the og (thus why all the characters that otherwise would depend on the yutagonists still exist and stuff) with the yutagonists "removed". and my removed i really mean, in a meta programming way, their files were corrupted (wink wink as to why) and had to be moved out of the code, copy-pasted-renamed as the yuboys to fill the gap left. so technically the yutagonists did exist in this universe - but after zarc did his silly thing it basically retroactively went back and modified their existence. nobody remembers them directly but most characters do have a gap in their "code" that was filled by their respective yutagonist so they're kinda sorta aware that there is Something missing but they dont know what or why. really you can imagine this as the universe is a code and the yutagonists were files linked in this code, their files are gone/moved but the strings that depended on them in the code still exist, just with nothing to connect to
they can be restored! sorta. kinda. i started exploring it with judai a bit, but their physical existence can be restored. their identity/psychological element tho? not really. their souls are in the souls of the yuboys and bgirls, and to come back to existence as fully themselves they would have to take those souls back, technically killing the others. to make a "forgotten by disney" reference, they would work the same way - if you believe hard enough that something or somebody should exist, they will start existing physically and their existence will fill gaps to make it appear that they existed all along
is there somebody who remembers them? well. so far we have only the light of destruction that truly remembers them on account of being a four dimensional being that is aware of the retroactive changes the numeron made after zarc. arguably if you count the numeron code as in a way kinda sentient it is Fully aware of everything that is missing. because its the one trying to fix the gaps of whats missing. 96 is indirectly aware of yuma because he peeked into vector's "codified" memories - memories he should have had but doesnt, because theyre one of those strings connected to yuma that now link to nothing. astral is.. indirectly aware of yuma. like yubel to judai. theyre much more aware that Someone is missing, someone very important to them, and are able to subconsciously draw from the codified memories (and in their case modify their appearance slightly. not on purpose, but out of some instinct that then tells them "this feels familiar. this feels right"). Zorc, perhaps, is aware of yugi being absent, but im not sure. whoever holds the millenium key and the milleium puzzle (and thus atem himself too) also likely are aware of it the same way yubel and 96 are, in the sense that thanks to the functions of the key and the puzzle itd be possible to look into the minds of those with "codified" memories and see yugi in them. for synchro uhhhh No Clue but there is definitely someone there i just dont know yet. either way the general rule is "there is at least 1 being that is Fully aware, directly or indirectly, of who exactly is missing, and at least 1 being that is partially aware that there is someone missing but doesnt know who exactly". if anyone is aware of whats happening i would say No except maybe kinda LoD but only because, again, the thing exists on a different material plane and is thus unaffected by the mess zarc made
